RI ELDER LAW CENTER - Key Persons

Since 1994, David R. Ball has been practicing law in the State of Rhode Island. He is the founder and owner of The Rhode Island Elder Law Center, Ltd., an elder law firm that is dedicated to helping Rhode Island seniors and their families. He graduated from Bryant College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration concentrating in economics, from Suffolk University Law School, and received an M.B.A. from Bryant College. He is author of our Rhode Island Guide to Nursing Homes. David is also a VA Accredited attorney.

Kerri Sheldon is our newest addition to The Rhode Island Elder Law Center family. Originally from the Southern Adirondack region of upstate New York, and after a brief stint in Southern California, Kerri finally settled in Rhode Island in 1999. At The Rhode Island Elder Law Center, Kerri is often the first point of contact, greeting clients and guests with a welcoming smile. She is quickly learning the ropes around the office, assisting Laura with the Medicaid applications and the publication of the Nursing Home Guide. She completed the Paralegal Certificate program at Roger Williams University in December 2010 and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Rhode Island. When she's not at work, Kerri spends most of her time with her children. She enjoys walking and hiking in many of Rhode Island's parks and nature preserves and is always on the look-out for new places to explore.

Laura has been with The Rhode Island Elder Law Center, Ltd. since August of 2005. She is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our organization, organizing and scheduling seminars, and publishing our Rhode Island Guide to Nursing Homes. In addition, Laura works with clients throughout the entire Medicaid application process. She is currently working on her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island College of Business and plans to attend law school upon graduation. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, and working outside in her yard.
