ANNABEL LEE

The Annabel Lee was built in 1889 as a residential home for Elizabeth Allen by Hiram Leonard. Mr. Leonard was a master carpenter and home builder in the Village. Details include multiple roof styles, a tower with a finial, a grand oak entry hall, and a stained glass window at the landing. Ms. Allen was the daughter of a local developer and one for the earliest graduates of the College (1876). Over the years the Annabel Lee has served as a family home to several of Geneseo's most prominent families, including the first clerk of the NYS Supreme Court Appellate Division 4th Department, a veterinarian, a postmaster, a local baseball hero, an opera singer, and a college professor.
