Alexandra Kehlenbeck - Founder

Job Titles:
  • Founder
Alexandra Kehlenbeck has worked in the field of ABA since 2011. She first became interested in providing education for people with disabilities after the birth of her cousin Francisco who has rare genetic deformities. Alex became a special education teacher in New York, and taught in an independent school district in Texas after she moved to the Houston area in 2009. Shortly after becoming more familiar with the area, she began working in a clinic for people with special needs by applying principles of ABA in a highly structured setting. Alex decided to embark on this concept by using the technology of live video streaming to connect with families in need of support. Although the traditional clinic model has been proven to be effective, there is no doubt that it obtains initial results in an "artificial" setting and does not provide a direct line for caregivers to observe or practice the techniques needed. With teletreatment, the "middle man" can be removed. The BCBA directly interacts with the client and the caregivers in the exact setting where the intervention needs to occur. Since the BCBA can observe the caregiver's implementation of the treatment and the client's reaction in real-time, this allows for immediate adjustments to be made when necessary. Also, this service can reach remote and rural areas that may otherwise not have ABA services, as well as work around the caregiver's daily schedule to provide therapy at a time that works best for the family. The Kehlenbeck Center was started with the intention of providing direct support to families, caregiver, and clients where and when they need it the most in their day to day lives.
