Dr Andrea Ryan

Dr Andrea Ryan graduated from University of Melbourne in 2009. She is an enthusiastic and dedicated doctor with a core focus on health promotion and disease prevention. She is committed to the provision of compassionate, patient focused heath care and helps patients find the weight loss tools that suit their lifestyle and health concerns.

Dr Ankit Gupta

Ankit attended Monash University and earned his medical degree (MBBS) in 2013 with First Class Honours. In recognition of his academic performance, he was awarded the Bryan Hudson Prize in Medicine, the Monash Health Emergency Medicine Prize and the Monash Health Medical Academic Scholarship. Ankit believes that everyone deserves a doctor who will listen to their concerns, provide high quality medical advice and help them feel confident about their health. He realises that a successful weight loss program requires a personalised approach that takes into account the values and priorities of his patients.

Dr Belinda Jennings

Since graduating in 2011, I have worked across all areas of medicine and surgery, before qualifying as a GP in early 2020. From working as a hospital officer in obstetrics to being a surgical registrar and finally as a GP, I have seen the impact of excess body weight on all aspects of health and illness. Which is why I have decided to specialise in medical weight loss to assist patients in making the greatest improvement to their health possible. When I'm not working I enjoy swimming, reading crime novels and going out to new restaurants. I'm looking forward to exploring SA with my husband and 7yo son.

Dr Catherine Bacus

Dr Catherine Bacus is a passionate and dedicated doctor, who specialises in weight management, and is committed to bringing the best of medical research to assist her patients to help manage their weight long term. She knows that weight loss can be challenging, and many of her patients are frustrated by failed dieting efforts - they just want something that will work, information that they can trust and practical strategies that they can sustain long term. Catherine has spent time under the mentorship of Dr Sharon Marks and Prof Joe Proietto, leading obesity physicians, and her goal is to bring the most effective weight loss tools to patients to help them achieve their goals. Catherine supports her patients through to their weight loss journey, with care and compassion.

Dr Charmaine Tay

Charmaine graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2010. She has experience working in general practice, with an interest in the management of chronic diseases and women's health and is excited to join the team at Alevia. With a supportive approach and an understanding of the challenges behind long term weight loss and maintenance, she endeavours to build relationships with patients, assisting them to achieve their best outcome. Outside of work, she enjoys baking and spending time with her family and pugalier.

Dr Ella Barclay

Ella graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2014 and completed her General Practice training in 2018. Since then, she has worked in various fields in General Practice, gaining a multitude of skills. Ella is passionate about helping people who struggle with their weight and understands the difficulty people face given all the fad diets and information circulating around, especially in social media. She understands that struggling with your weight can affect all facets of your wellbeing, not just physical ones. Ella is dedicated to using the latest scientific evidence to help people achieve their weight loss and health goals. She is compassionate, empathic and will support you through your weight loss and health journey.

Dr Emily McMullin

Dr Emily McMullin graduated from Monash University in 2008 and completed her Fellowship of General Practice in 2014. She brings an empathetic and holistic approach to patient care which is underpinned by a vast experience in General Practice. Emily has specialist interests in preventive medicine and medical education. She has been fortunate to pass on her expertise as a supervisor of GPs in their training and enjoys the journey of lifelong learning.

Dr Hilda Jessop

After a number of years of working in general practice and medical education, both in the UK and Australia, Dr Hilda has brought her expertise and experience to Alevia. She is a warm and compassionate doctor who recognises the challenge of losing and maintaining a healthy weight, and understands that for each individual the path to safe and effective weight loss is different. Hilda continues to practice as a GP, and maintains a special interest in supporting patients with mental health problems. When she isn't working, she can normally be found hiking and connecting with nature.

Dr Jane Doyle

Dr Jane Doyle studied medicine at Monash University and has worked in general practice in Melbourne for more than 20 years. Jane enjoys supporting her patients to achieve their goals for longterm health and wellbeing. She strives to do this in a respectful, empathic and caring manner. Jane appreciates that achieving and maintaining weight loss is a challenging journey that requires evidence based medical interventions combined with sustained lifestyle and behavioural change. She believes that together with the multidisciplinary team at Alevia she can provide close ongoing individual care and support to her patients.

Dr Janelle Francis

Dr Janelle Francis is an enthusiastic and experienced GP who graduated from Monash University in 1991 and obtained her Fellowship with Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1998. She has been a GP supervisor for the RACGP for many years. Janelle has a wealth of experience supporting patients who attend the Austin weight control clinic and is passionate about helping patients to improve their overall health and wellbeing.

Dr Julie Chang

Graduating from Melbourne University in 1998, Julie strives to provide medical care with integrity, compassion and wisdom. Having looked after many patients with chronic diseases, Julie is now focused on preventative health care through weight management. She understands how hard it is to lose weight and to keep it off, which may seem like a never-ending cycle for many people. She is dedicated to using the latest scientific evidence, in conjunction with a personalised approach, to help her patients achieve and maintain their goal weight.

Dr Nicolette Scheepers

In her spare time she enjoys travelling, reading and playing tennis.
