Arthur "Kitt" Watson

Arthur Kittredge ("Kitt") Watson, Jr. was born in New York, New York on December 13, 1955. He is the eldest son of six children born to Ann and Arthur K. Watson. Educated in private and public schools in New Canaan, Connecticut, Camden, Maine and Paris, France, Mr. Watson received his degree in Business from Bradford College in Haverhill, Massachusetts. In 1981, Mr. Watson assumed ownership and management control of three of his late father's corporations, which he consolidated in 1986 into Watson Enterprises Incorporated ("WEI"). Mr. Watson acts as President and CEO of WEI and several other corporations. His business enterprises have ranged from operating the largest exclusive Mercedes-Benz dealership in New England (Mercedes-Benz of Greenwich) to yacht charters (Watson Boat Company Incorporated), several computer app ventures, including (Trist and Fikl, LLC), a home design and remodeling (W.M. Design & Renovation, LLC) and a line of cosmetic oils and lotions (Younger You LLC). Prior ventures have included a tropical farming operation (Continental Challenge, Sdn. Bbd., which operated an 8,000 acre fruit and vegetable farm in Malaysia), international marketing (Watson Produce, Ltd., a Bahamas corporation; Watson International, Ltd., a U.S. Virgin Islands corporation) and aircraft charters (K.A. Aviation Limited). In addition to the Maine Maritime Academy, Mr. Watson is also a past member of the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, Bradford College, and of the Board of Directors of Vitam Center, Inc. in Norwalk, Connecticut, a mental health center that treats teenagers for drug/alcohol problems,as well as a Board member of the St. Luke's School, a college preparatory school in New Canaan, CT , additionally, Mr. Watson contributed the St. Luke's football field, school flag pole and donated several Mercedes Benz vehicles to the school for raffles. Mr. Watson is a lifelong avid sailor and has sailed every major sea and ocean of the world. Mr. Watson is married to Diane Segura of Norwalk, Connecticut. He has two sons and one daughter. The family resides in New Canaan, Connecticut.

Captain Wendy L. Morrison

Captain Wendy L. Morrison graduated from Maine Maritime Academy and sailed commercially in the US Merchant Marine, obtaining her US Coast Guard Master's License, Unlimited, before coming ashore. She holds a Master's Degree in Science and Maritime Management from the Loeb Sullivan Graduate School of International Business and Logistics. Wendy sailed for Marine Transport Lines, Inc., aboard chemical tankers and MARAD chartered vessels, participating in "Desert Storm" and NATO exercises in Europe. Shore based, she worked as a marine superintendent with Shell Oil Company, providing marine support for Shell terminals on the US East Coast and Florida, and for the Domestic Shipping Group, USA. Currently, she serves as a ship pilot for the Ports of Galveston and Texas City, Texas, holding executive office positions within the Galveston Texas City Pilot group. Wendy grew up in Perry, Maine, and prides herself as a true "Downeaster". Currently, she resides in Dickinson, Texas.

Elizabeth True currently serves as the Vice President of Student Affairs at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor where she oversees all student life and enrollment functions. Her education career has included teaching stints from sixth grade through graduate school as well as administrative positions in higher education at Maine Maritime Academy, Cornell University, Mount Ida College and Castleton State College. True is actively involved in her professional organization, NASPA, and has served as state director for NASPA in Maine and Vermont as well as Vermont and Massachusetts State Coordinator for the American Council on Education National Network for Women Leaders. A long-time school board member in her town of Sedgwick, True was elected by her peers to serve as Union 76 Board Chair in 2021.

Jason Oney, an Aroostook County native, graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in 1996 with a degree in Marine Engineering. He serves as the President and Chief Executive of Strategic Maintenance Solutions, Inc. (SMS). Mr. Oney has made significant contributions to asset management improvement for medium and large corporations around the globe. Mr. Oney served as a Lieutenant in the USNR. Mr. Oney serves on several educational and business advisory boards. He resides in Falmouth with his wife, Lindsey, and their two sons Elliott and Nathan.

Miles Theeman is a sales and marketing executive, having spent over 39 years with Northern Light Healthcare (nee Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems), who at the time of his retirement in 2015, was VP-Chief Sales and Marketing Officer; responsible for facilitating sales related entrepreneurship and innovation throughout NLH as well as developing, managing and evaluating institution and service line specific sales and marketing plans. Previously he was President & CEO of Affiliated Healthcare Systems, NLH's for-profit subsidiary, where he worked for over twenty-five years. He has a long history of community service to the Greater Bangor area. A former chair of the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce and the City of Bangor Planning Board, he was also a co-chair of the "Friends of the Maine Center" group whose advocacy efforts led to the construction of the Cross Insurance Center, a member and former Chair of the Maine Innovation Economy Advisory board-which recommends and advocates science and technology policy for the State of Maine, and a member of the University of Maine Board of Visitors. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Bangor Target Area Development Corporation and a Board member and Treasurer of the Greater Bangor Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Currently, he is the former chair and remains a member of the Cross Insurance Center Advisory Board, and is also the Chairperson of the Beth Israel Cemetery Corporation. Miles grew up in Lubec. He earned an undergraduate degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Florida. He and his wife Sharon live in Bangor and Whiting, have two grown children and two grandchildren.

Paul Mercer

Paul Mercer grew up in Bucksport and graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in 1973. After five years aboard merchant ships Paul has held senior management positions in energy, environment and academia. He has held numerous positions at MMA both with the faculty and administration, served as Commissioner of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and currently Special Advisor to the Governor on Offshore Wind. Paul resides in Penobscot with wife Brenda and enjoys time with two grown children and special granddaughter.

Robert D. Somerville

Robert Somerville graduated from Maine Maritime Academy with a degree in marine engineering and has devoted his professional life to the marine industry. His early years were spent as a seagoing engineer and later in gaining experience at the Newport News shipyard. In 1970 he began a forty-three year career with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) holding increasingly senior positions as Field Surveyor, Senior Surveyor, Principal Surveyor, Regional Manager for Western Europe, and President and Chief Operating Officer of ABS Europe. He served for twenty-one years as the President and Chief Operating Officer, CEO and finally as the Chairman of the Board retiring in 2013. He has received numerous awards in recognition of his contributions to maritime safety and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the International Association of Classification Societies.

S. Catherine "Katy" Longley

S. Catherine "Katy" Longley has been the executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Jackson Laboratory since July 2018. She joined JAX in August 2016 as the vice president and chief financial officer after a distinguished career in finance, government, and law. In her current role, Katy provides strategic leadership, direction, and management for all operating activities of the Laboratory. She oversees External and Government Affairs, Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Legal, Security, Strategic Communications, and Translational and Business Alliances. Prior to joining JAX, Longley served as the Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration and Treasurer at her alma mater, Bowdoin College in Brunswick. She served as commissioner of Professional & Financial Regulation in the cabinet of Maine Governor Angus King, and practiced law at Verrill in Portland for over a decade. Katy currently serves as a director and chair of the audit committee of Camden National Corporation in Camden. She is a graduate of the Maine Development Foundation's Leadership Maine Epsilon Class and the Maine Community Foundation's Leadership Learning Exchange for Equity. Katy holds a B.A. degree from Bowdoin College and a J.D. cum laude from Suffolk University Law School.

Wayne A. Norton

Wayne Norton is a 1986 MMA graduate. For the last 30 years Wayne has worked in the Commercial Nuclear Industry. Wayne started his nuclear career as the Construction Coordinator at Maine Yankee Atomic Power Co. in 1991 and held various management positions at the Nuclear Plant during the operations and shutdown of the facility. Mr. Norton led the decommissioning of Maine Yankee, Connecticut Yankee and Yankee Rowe nuclear plants following their shutdown and led the development of their respective spent nuclear fuel storage facilities. Over the last 21 years Wayne has held the positions of President of Maine Yankee Atomic Power Co., Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Co., and Yankee Atomic Electric Company. Mr. Norton lives in Gorham, Maine with his wife Kelley and they have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren.
