DRIVING AUTOMOTIVE SALES - Key Persons

Kathy Skibinsky

Kathy Skibinsky was born and raised in the car industry. Her father worked for Chrysler when she was a small child, and her parents started an automotive rental company which evolved into an independent automotive dealership. As a result, Kathy began detailing cars at night and on weekends when she was but 5 years old, stoking a fire that led to a lifelong passion and career. After attending university in pursuit of a career in elementary education, Kathy returned to northeast Saskatchewan to work at her parents' dealership. She started in the shop, changing oil and detailing, and as time progressed her outgoing nature led to sales. She sold vehicles, purchased inventory, arranged transportation, detailed cars, and worked in the F & I office. After five years working alongside her parents, Kathy took an opportunity in a larger city center. As the consistent top sales person, she was swiftly promoted to GSM of the (then) dealer group's Chrysler store at the age of 26. From there, it was no looking back-she took the underperforming dealership and transformed it into a top competitor for not only the city but the Canadian prairies. Kathy prides herself in developing her sales team into a top 25 FCA store. After achieving her four-year goals in under three, Kathy needed a new challenge. She spent the past three years as a top Canadian automotive sales trainer, working with various brands from import and domestic to luxury and exotic, including: Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat, GM, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, BMW, Mitsubishi, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lamborghini, Mercedes Benz, and Harley Davidson. Kathy prides herself in being process-oriented and being part of every deal, meeting every customer, and building great morale. She now hosts training seminars coast-to-coast for sales representatives, sales managers and general managers. She works in-store, too, offering dealership training, personal one-on-one coaching and boardroom training. Kathy most recently worked closely with a domestic sales team through the pandemic. Experiencing and understanding the challenges of social distance sales, online lead nurturing and adjusted sales call and sales processes. Kathy brings a wealth of knowledge to her trainees, ensuring the students are provided not only with relevent curriculum but also valuable experience in the industry. Kathy's lifetime of automotive experience combined with the passion of training, coaching and teaching has led to an ultimate dream career.
