FERRINI RANCH - Key Persons

Mark Kelton

For three generations, the Kelton family has worked to build high-quality homes and communities. The family motto is: "work hard, conduct business with intelligence and courage, hold on to the highest standards of integrity, and success will follow." Mark Kelton's grandfather, Louis, built homes on the East Coast for 20 years before moving to California to join forces with Walter Bollenbacher in 1930. During World War II, Kelton and Bollenbacher built military facilities. Mark's father, Richard, joined the family firm in the 1950s and broadened the type of projects to also include ranching, apartments, and college facilities. In 1983, Mark joined the family business after working in building maintenance and on concrete and framing crews. Over the years, the Kelton family has created a number of well-designed and quality-built communities, including the Toro Park Estates neighborhood located across Highway 68 from part of the proposed Ferrini Ranch project.

Ray Harrod Jr.

For four generations, the Harrod family has built legacy homes in Monterey and San Luis Obispo counties. Ray Harrod Jr. and his brothers carry on the family tradition in operating several Salinas-based Harrod companies. "The Harrod Family has been building unique, quality neighborhoods on the Central Coast for over fifty years. We take pride in our innovative, long-lasting products and believe each home is an important asset to its owner and the community." The Harrods have been voted "peoples'-choice" favorite homebuilder year after year for quality home-investment, a value that Ray and his family cherish and consistently strive to maintain.
