Hiil-San International Rural Development Organization which is referred to as (HIIL-SAN) in short is a community based and development-oriented organization, non-political, non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Ottawa, Canada. HIIL-SAN is a federally incorporated non-profit organization under Canada Not-for-profit Corporation Act (S.C. 2009, c. 23). HIIL-SAN believes that education and rural development is a pre-requisite for the social and economic development of Somalia... The extreme poverty in Somalia leaves a trail of homeless children. Many of these children either die a premature death through malnutrition or walk the streets in search of food. Some of the most desperate children turn to begging in the streets to suppress the hunger pains, or to gangs as a means of survival.
