Buck MacGillivray started Mac's Track House in 1989 out of his home in Beaverton, Oregon. As a former track athlete and sales professional, Buck created the company by combining the two passions with a goal to serve the schools in his community. For nearly 30 years, Mac's Track House has served more than 50 high schools in the Portland-Metro area and supplies them with the equipment they need for successful seasons, training and competitions. Buck MacGillivray is the Founder and President of Mac's Track House. Currently, he serves as the primary contact for many coaches and athletic directors around the greater Portland area. Since a young age, Buck has been a passionate athlete. In high school, he was the Idaho state champion in both the 220- and 440-yard events. With his athletic abilities and drive to become one of the first children in his family to earn a college education combined, Buck earned a scholarship to Idaho State University (ISU). There, he competed in the same events, becoming the first ISU track and field athlete to compete in a NCAA National Track and Field Championship. After completing his Bachelor of Science in 1959, Buck coached high school track and field and cross country at Nampa High School in Nampa, Idaho for nine years until 1969. While he was with Nampa High School, Buck coached three state championship teams and several individual state champion athletes. From there, he and his family moved west to Oregon where he pursed a sales position with DuPont before establishing Mac's Track House in 1989. In 1995, Buck was inducted into the ISU Hall of Fame for his track and field achievements. Currently, Buck resides in Beaverton, Oregon with his wife. You can often find him visiting with coaches and watching track meets of all competitive levels. When he's not at a track meet, he enjoys a round of golf and setting power walking records.
