PETERSEN LAB

Our research group at Kenyon College studies the genetic mechanisms that drive nervous system development. We are particularly interested in myelinating glia and how neurons and the surrounding environment influence their development. For our studies, we use the genetically and optically tractable zebrafish model system... Kenyon College students receive inquiry-based scientific training starting in their very first year. Our lab's projects are led by a team of undergraduate students who design, execute, and communicate our work.
