Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. Habitat envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to live... We offer a hand up, not a hand out. We do not give away our houses. We are able to keep the houses affordable by offering a zero interest mortgage and, we require our Habitat for Humanity homeowners to invest 250 hours of "sweat equity" to help build their home.
