Andrew J. Zulieve

Andrew (Andy) Zulieve is a seasoned professional with more than thirty years of experience.From his mid -coast Maine office, Andy represents clients statewide, nationally and internationally. Highly regarded as an expert in intellectual property law, Andy takes a thoughtful, proactive and effective approach to protecting a client's valuable trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights. He employs this same approach to aggressively represent his clients in state and federal courts. Over time, Andy has expanded his core intellectual property specialty to include the complementary fields of business formation, contract negotiations and breach of product and service contracts. Andy grew up in the Washington D.C, area, was graduated fromMiami university (Oxford, Ohio) in 1978 and from the Antioch Law School (Washington, D.C.) in 1987. While at Antioch, he was a law clerk for the D.C. main office of Finnegan Henderson, one of the world's largest and most prestigious intellectual property firms. After passing the Maine bar exam, he worked for the United States Trademark Office where he successfully argued cases before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Known by his clients and peers as "the polite lawyer" Andy works tirelessly to develop creative approaches that best serve the interests of each client. As one of the few trademark Lawyers in the area, he regularly presents lectures and seminars, writes articles and columns on copyright infringement and federal trademark practice. Andy served as president of the Lincoln County Bar Association 2001-2019. He is chair of the intellectual property section of the Maine Bar Association. Andy volunteers his time with Lawyers for the Arts.
