I have been in the insurance industry for close to a decade. I have a higher certificate in Wealth Management and have specialized in the fields of succession planning, private wealth accumulation/preservation, investments and commercial lines. I have also written articles which were published in Profusion Magazine- touching on the importance of your Financial Advisor and our critical role in your life journey which can be found on my Linkedin page.
My insurance career began in 2000 with The Cincinnati Insurance Companies after graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I worked as a personal lines underwriter for 3 years then moved over to commercial lines for the following 3 years. In 2006 I came home to Alex City and began working with Dark Insurance Agency as a producer and have been enjoying this position ever since. In addition to producing new business and servicing our insureds I am also responsible for all of the agency's social media and marketing efforts. In my free time I enjoy hunting and spending time with my wife Natalie and my three smart and beautiful daughters.
John Dark, the current owner, began his insurance career in 1969 with Continental Insurance Company in Birmingham, AL. He worked as both an underwriter and field representative for three years before returning home to Alexander City, AL and buying into the agency that is now Dark Insurance. Although John is still active in the agency, his two sons, John and Will Dark assure the continued perpetuation of Dark Insurance Agency for years to come.
Will Dark, is a dedicated insurance agent and native to the Alexander City, Al area. He earned is Associates Degree in Business Management from Central Alabama Community College then continued on to graduate with a Bachelor of the Arts Degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. He then traveled the country for many years with his lovely wife working various jobs and realized he simply wanted to come back home to be close to family and friends. Eventually settling down and moving back to his hometown, he became part of the team at Dark Insurance Agency in 2010. After only 1 year in the industry he earned his Certified Insurance Service Representative designation (CISR) and in 2013 went on to earn his Certified Insurance Counselor designation (CIC). Outside of insurance, he enjoys many activities such as hunting, fishing, traveling, and golf. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters. Will considers himself incredibly blessed to be able to serve the people of the Lake Martin area and also to live in such a great community.
Will "Dub" Banks is a native of Auburn AL but has several family members in the Tallapoosa County area.
His insurance career started 2021, and he started with Dark Insurance July 2023. Being a former car guy, he hit the ground running in insurance. He was blessed with serving over a 1000+ families in personal lines across the River Regions, becoming the #1 Insurance Salesman in 5 months. Will is very dedicated to helping others as he is also a member of the Lake Martin Civitan Club. He tries to bring smiles and good energy to the Lake Martin Area continuing to serve AL, GA, and FL areas.
Will enjoys Alabama Football and traveling the world with his wife and also being able to show his son and other kids different outlets in life. He loves telling them to continue dreaming and winners always make situations. He looks forward to building connections for many years with Lake Martin and the surrounding areas, and also with Dark Insurance.
