Alan Chambers graduated from the University of Wales, Swansea in 2002, gaining an MSc with Distinction in Computer Science. Since then, he has worked as a software engineer for several world renowned studios. These include Sony Computer Entertainment where he worked on games such as Formula 1 and WipEout, Sidhe as Lead Graphics Engineer and Weta Digital on core rendering technology for their upcoming film productions. In 2012, his work on "Optimized Stadium Crowd Rendering" for the Rugby Challenge franchise was published in GPU Pro 3. He currently has more than 10 published video games to his name, most of which have sold over one million copies each since release. Over the years, he has built up a knowledge base on a variety of platforms. With a comprehensive knowledge of processor architectures across several CPU and GPU implementations, he can work with almost any hardware configuration. His areas of interest include optimisation, parallel programming, engine architecture and graphics techniques.
