A native of Georgia, Dr. Daniel Hwang, DMD, is proud to call it home. As a matter of fact, he lives just 3 miles from his practice, which borders three major metro Atlanta cities - Duluth, Suwanee, and Lawrenceville. Because he grew up here, he appreciates the diverse demographics and he feels a strong connection with others in the area. Prior to attending dental school, Dr. Hwang worked as a dental assistant. Dr. Hwang received a Bachelor of Business Studies in Risk Management from Georgia State University. In addition, he received a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine. Among his professional affiliations are the ADA (American Dental Association), the GDA (Georgia Dental Association), and the AGD (Academy of General Dentistry). Dr. Daniel Hwang, DMD, believes dentistry is not just drilling and filling, but a perfect marriage of art and science. While Dr. Hwang loves many aspects of dentistry, he is most satisfied when he helps other people and makes their lives easier. He views the center of patient care as a personalized approach with a detailed explanation of findings and treatment options for each patient in order to ensure that they fully understand what treatment is needed and how it is done. According to Dr. Hwang, if patients understand their conditions and treatments, their stress and anxiety levels decrease as their trust in him grows. Being well informed and trusting the doctor during an appointment make the patient feel more comfortable. And patient comfort is a priority! Some fun facts about Dr. Hwang include his love for urban and landscape photography. In fact, he even worked as a photographer! He is also a collector of Converse shoes and loves to tinker on cars. He is bilingual (Korean and English). He and his wife have been married since 2012 and have two sons.
