Dr. Moad Idrissi is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Data Science where he has significantly contributed to academia, research and industry. He served as a Research Fellow on the 5G Connected Forest project, funded by the UK's DCMS, achieving wide media coverage and international recognitions. Dr. Idrissi has accumulated over six years of teaching experience. In 2022, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Tokyo, Japan, and during the academic year of 2023-24, he served as a visiting academic at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UK). During his tenure at Birmingham City University, Dr. Idrissi held the position of Employability and Industry Engagement lead for his department. Here, he supported the development of relationships with leading industry partners including Microsoft, AFJ, Universal Studios, and Jaguar Land Rover, which entailed facilitating visits, mentored projects, partnerships, and employment opportunities. Dr. Idrissi's industrial experience is driven by his Tech-Lead role at Curzon House (UK) followed by serving as a senior consultant for SMInnovetics Ltd (UK) in the development of bespoke technologies. He also served as a KT supervisor for AFJ Ltd (UK) in the development of vehicle fleets and Monitoring Systems for Home-toSchool Transportation.
Research Interests
Dr. Moad Idrissi is an active researcher who has successfully secured multiple projects within the areas of Vehicle Fleet Management, Environmental Monitoring and Digital Mapping for Biodiversity Conservation, which utilizes state-ofthe-art technologies including Smart Sensing, Aerial and ground robotics. Currently, Dr. Idrissi's research is focused on integrating AI with visionbased sensing for autonomous aerial and ground robots, particularly in tackling complex robotics challenges through innovative perception methods and multi-agent control systems. Over the years, he has achieved numerous publications in top-tier journals and conferences which have earned him multiple IEEE best paper awards.

Dr. Taleb Alkurdi is currently a senior lecturer (associate professor) at Oryx Universal College (OUC) in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University. He joined the team in July 2023. Dr. Alkurdi has more than ten years of academic experience. He served as an assistant professor of mathematics for eight years in Saudi Arabia; Seven years at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) and one year at Taibah University in Al-Madinah Al-Munawara. Before that he served as a lecture for one and a half year; One year at the Community College of Qatar (CCQ) and one semester at Yarmouk University in Jordan.

Richmond Michelo is a Lecturer in the BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying program at Oryx Universal College/Liverpool John Moores university. He possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Zambia, an MSc in Finance from Strathclyde Business School, and an MSc in Quantity Surveying, with distinction, from Glasgow Caledonian University. Richmond has also obtained several other professional postgraduate qualifications, including ACCA (Accounting and Finance), CIM (Marketing), and CIAB-SA (Banking). Richmond has many years of academic, technical, and management industry experience in the finance and construction sectors. Prior to his teaching experience, he worked in Zambia's banking sector and Lonrho, a multinational conglomerate. He has more than eight years of teaching experience in tertiary and university institutions in Namibia and the United Kingdom. His taught modules include economics, quantitative studies, accounting, finance, and marketing, among others. Richmond has contributed to the development and evaluation of modules in terms of content, delivery, and assessment. He played a pivotal role in increasing student numbers and promoting the college across all regions, leading to the establishment of the first private university in Namibia - The International University of Management (IUM). Additionally, he provided capacity building in business and financial management to various SMEs through the external engagement department. Prior to joining OUC/Liverpool John Moores University, he worked as a Consultant Professional Quantity Surveyor for Jacobs UK limited, an engineering and construction services company. Richmond's market sector experience includes commercial, defense, marine, highway projects, schools, Ministry of Justice, and other high-value construction schemes, among others. Richmond is seeking to obtain chartership from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to solidify his extensive expertise and abilities. His research interests include financing models for renewable energy infrastructure in developing and emerging markets, as well as procurement and corporate finance. He aims to pursue a Ph.D. in this field of study.
