PARRENO LAB

The Parreno lab is in the Department of Biological Sciences at Wolf Hall within the University of Delaware Campus. We are interested in understanding how the actin cytoskeleton guides basic biological and disease processes. Through the insights gained, we strive to develop actin-based therapeutics to prevent disease as well as methodologies to regenerate disease tissues... Our research focuses on the actin cytoskeleton in Articular Cartilage, Tendon, and the Eye Lens. Our projects aim to understand how actin regulates the progression of Osteoarthritis, Tendinosis, and Cataracts... Our team consists of a multi-disciplinary group of students ranging from Biology, to Engineering, to Economics.
