Bertrand Bolduc

Mr. Bolduc is a licensed pharmacist (U. of Montreal - 1990), he holds an MBA from HEC Montreal (2000) and is a certified director of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) since 2009. Between 1992 and 2009, he held different marketing and management positions in the biopharmaceutical industry in companies such as Servier, Biovail, Axcan and Mistral Pharma. A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Bolduc is the chairman of Galenova Inc., a distributor of pharmaceutical products, and co-owner of Gentes & Bolduc Pharmacists, a pharmacy specialized in compounding and sterile products. He is also a co-founder of Sterinova Inc., a Canadian pharmaceutical sterile manufacturer and distributor. He co-founded Therappx Inc. and is a partner of Ask your Pro Inc. Mr. Bolduc sits on the board of Pharma In Silica Inc., of Angany Inc. and Greenshield Canada. He joined the board of l'Ordre des pharmaciens du Québec (Quebec's College of Pharmacists) in 2009 and he became President in March 2014.

Pierre-Yves Desbiens

Pierre-Yves Desbiens, CPA, CA, MBA, has a long and distinguished career with more than 35 years of leadership experience, where he held COO and CFO titles for the last 25 years for various companies in the fields of technology, innovation and life sciences. He played a major role in the creation of many successful start-ups, namely NÉOMED Institute and its subsidiary NEOMED-Labs Inc., and ArthroLab Inc. Earlier in his career, Desbiens was part of the leadership group who brought Oceanex to its successful IPO and has held various roles for both public and private companies including the Quebec Solidarity Funds, Deloitte and Price Waterhouse Cooper.

Xavier Banquy - CTO

Xavier Banquy is an associate professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Montreal. He holds the Canada Research Chair in Bio-inspired Materials. His research shows that biomaterials that mimic functional proteins can restore properties that have been lost during disease development. He is addressing this problem by using materials engineering tools to develop biomaterials that can perform biological functions. Research by Banquy and his team will lead to more effective treatments for currently incurable diseases, such as osteoarthritis. It will also provide new tools to develop protein surrogates that can act as cost-effective replacement parts for the human body. He earned a Master degree in chemical engineering from l'École Nationale Supérieure des Industries Chimiques de Nancy in France, a Ph.D. in Pharmacy from University of Montreal and has completed a post-doctoral fellowship in chemical engineering at the University of California in Santa Barbara. He is the co-inventor of the Lubrium™ technology and leads its development for its various applications.
