RIVERBEND DEER PROCESSING - Key Persons

Mike Haltom

Mike Haltom started deer processing at a young age of 15 working for a custom meat processor, Mr. Raymond Anderson. Raymond was his teacher and mentor in making quality ham, bacon, and sausage. After Mr. Anderson retired, Mike worked in the retail business for over 20 years. Mike always had a desire to get back to making sausage. In 2002, Mike and Deborah Haltom had the opportunity to purchase a small deer processing business called J&M Sausage L. L. C. in the Spring/Tomball area. Within 15 years the business grew from 500 to 2000 deer per year. In 2015, Mike sold J&M Sausage and soon after, Mike and Bo built Riverbend Deer Processing, L.L.C in Wharton, Texas to be closer to home.
