Dr. Mejia-Lancheros is an internationally known researcher with over 15 years of research and field experience. She has worked and conducted field and community-based research in low- and high-income countries including Colombia, Spain, Ireland, Canada, and the UK. Dr. Mejia-Lancheros is an expert in clinical epidemiology and public health.
She holds a Master in Public Health from the University of Pompeu Fabra, Spain, a Master in Global Health Policy from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and University of London, England. She also has a Ph.D. in Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Preventive Medicine and Public Health from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain.
Dr. Mejia-Lancheros' work has generated evidence on the structural, contextual, and individual determinants of health and social well-being of individuals and populations over the course of their lives and across generations. She is an expert in comprehensive and rigorous epidemiological and biostatistical research methods.
Dr. Mejia-Lancheros also has a strong background in clinical practice as a Registered Nurse in different parts of the world, which further informs her research work and how she interprets and disseminates her findings. She enjoys working with people from different socioeconomic and professional backgrounds to advance professional practice and policy.
