Joy Smith Rich

Joy practices family based immigration and criminal defense. She is passionate about helping families remain together and reviewing every option available to them. Joy speaks Spanish and has represented dozens of persons in immigration and state court on cases such as bond, asylum, cancellation of removal, driving without a license, DUI, and other misdemeanor offenses. She is also experienced outside the courtroom and has represented numerous clients applying for citizenship and residency. Joy is dedicated to her clients. Because she understands criminal and immigration law, she is well-equipped to zealously fight for the best outcome of their case. Joy has served as a panelist on asylum and immigration programs presented by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Stonewall Bar Association, and Project Equality at Mercer Law School. She assisted in planning the 2018 GA-AL AILA Conference. She has also volunteered with the Transgender Name Change Project presented by Atlanta Legal Aid and the Stonewall Bar Association.
