I started my journey in real estate at the early age of nineteen as a Legal Assistant for a Real Estate Attorney in New York. From there my travels brought me to Florida where I fell in love with everything Florida. I started working for a Real Estate Attorney as a Legal Assistant eventually working my to becoming a Licensed Title Agent. I have over 15 years' experience in title insurance and have closed hundreds, if not thousands of transactions as a title agent. I also have several years' experience as a Recording Specialist and as the Assistant County Tax Director for McKenzie County, North Dakota. I have been married to my amazing husband for 10 years. We share three beautiful children together. His, hers and ours! We have a 17yr old son, his, a 17yr old daughter, hers, and ours, a 10yr old daughter. Fun fact about me, because my husband and I own land in Scotland, we hold the titles of Laird and Lady. My official title is, Lady Jamie Smith. I am also close with my immediate family. I am the oldest of five and we spend a lot of time together. We go fishing, boating, biking, exercising, volunteering, and exploring as a family. But our favorite as a family is watching our Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Lightning. Go CHAMPA BAY!!
Kathy was born and raised in Northern New Jersey. She received her BA in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Master's in Education: Administration and Supervision from New Jersey City University. She has spent the past twenty-two years as an educator (high school Spanish teacher) and private school administrator. She currently serves as an administrator at NorthBay Christian Academy. In 2021, she decided to pursue her real estate license to turn a favorite hobby into a career.
Kathy has been married to her husband John since 2006. They moved to Florida (Safety Harbor) in 2010 and quickly fell in love with the area. They love to get involved in local events and to explore any new restaurant that pops up. They currently live in Palm Harbor with their three daughters. The Leones love trips to the mountains, hiking, running, and above all else, Jesus.
Kathy has a passion for helping families find homes in the Pinellas County area. John is a former Marine, so Kathy also has a special place in her heart for military families.
