Lynda Price

Lynda began her career with Price & Smith Attorneys at Law in 1979, filling the roles of both office manager and legal assistant. She now shares her legal assistant experience with us and is responsible primarily for personal injury claims. Before working in the legal field, Lynda taught elementary school for ten years. She enjoys exercise, cooking, traveling the world, and looking for new adventures.

Mark Sumwalt

Mark Sumwalt has been representing injured workers for the overwhelming majority of my 42 years of practice. I've represented thousands of injured workers and have tried hundreds of cases before our Industrial Commission.

Melissa Russell

Melissa is one of our legal assistants. Previously with Price Petho & Anderson since 2008, she continues to be responsible for managing both workers' compensation and personal injury files through the claims and litigation process. Melissa is a native Charlottean who graduated from Belmont Abbey College. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter.

Meredith Walker

Meredith has been with the firm and its predecessors since 1994. She was a founding staff member of the The Sumwalt Law Firm in 1999. As our office administrator, her responsibilities include the firm's business affairs and day-to day operations. Meredith is active with the community theater outreach ministry of her church and loves spending time with her family.

Richard "Rick" Anderson

In 1993 Rick began his law career as an associate with Price & Smith Attorneys at Law, in Charlotte, NC. After six years, he was named as a partner of the firm in 1999. In 2017, Rick founded Price Petho & Anderson Attorneys at Law, where he practiced until 2020. Rick focuses his practice on workers' compensation, medical negligence, and catastrophic personal injury cases. You will find Rick to be an honest and dedicated advocate ready to fight for his clients. When he accepts your case, Rick makes a personal commitment to you and uses his 27 years of knowledge and experience to advance your lawsuit to achieve a successful outcome. A proven trial lawyer, Rick's passion involves not only the law but also delving into medical details associated with his client's injuries. Gaining the respect of those in the courtroom, his peers, and his opponents are essential. Rick has successfully represented individuals with different levels of paralysis (quadriplegia & paraplegia), severe traumatic brain injury, and amputation in their workers' compensation claims. Obtaining maximum compensation requires Rick to often try these catastrophic cases before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, the Full Commission, and the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Many of these cases ultimately resulted in multi-million dollar settlements.

Richard L. Anderson

Tammie is one of our legal assistants. She is responsible primarily for the maintenance of workers' compensation client files. She has been with the firm and its predecessors since 1994 and was a founding staff member of The Sumwalt Law Firm in 1999. Tammie is a native Charlottean who enjoys lake life with her two dogs.
