Mr Arun Loganathan

Mr Loganathan is a fee assured provider and competitive self-pay packages are available from the Claremont Private Hospital. In addition, Mr Loganathan is registered with most large insurance companies for insured patients. For self-pay patients, the initial consultation fee is £180 and follow up appointments is £100. Mr Loganathan qualified from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 2000 (MBChB) and also completed an intercalated degree in Pharmacology (BSC Hons). His surgical training was in the Yorkshire region. He spent 2 years in clinical research at St James's University Hospital, Leeds. During this time, he was awarded a major funding with the Bert Inman Fellowship grant. His research into sepsis after surgery resulted in a number of international presentations and publications in high impact journals. This culminated in the award of a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) from the University of Leeds. His higher surgical training was throughout the Yorkshire region at Hull, York, Bradford, Huddersfield and Leeds where he trained in all aspects of general and colorectal surgery. At the end of his higher surgical training, Mr Loganathan was awarded the Ethicon Royal College of Surgeons Travel Grant and he completed 2 years of prestigious fellowships in leading colorectal surgery units in Australia. His first year of fellowship training was at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide working with Professor David Wattchow and Mr Jim Sweeney where he gained specialist training in colorectal cancer surgery, particularly complex cases and recurrent cancers. He also gained broad experience in colorectal surgery for non cancer cases, hernias including large/complex incisional hernias, emergency surgery and advanced gynaecological malignancy. His second year of fellowship was at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Adelaide working with the pioneering laparoscopic surgeons Professor Peter Hewett and Mr Alex Karatasses. Mr Loganathan gained extensive experience in laparoscopic colorectal surgery for benign and cancer cases. He also gained wide experience in general colorectal surgery including new approaches for haemorrhoid surgery and published several research papers during this time.
