Tori McKee opened Best Practice Bookkeeping and Payroll LLC with two payroll clients and a laptop in 2017. Owner Tori Staub McKee moved to Lebanon at age 11 and graduated from Lebanon Union High School. She's lived in Albany since 2002, after living in Sacramento and Seattle after high school. Tori earned an Associate degree in Accounting Technology from Linn-Benton Community College in 2005 and has been working in accounting since. Tori's worked for well-regarded local CPA firms in Corvallis and Albany prior to opening Best Practice Bookkeeping and Payroll in 2017. In 2008, Tori began working for a CPA in their high-volume payroll department where she worked with approximately 120 payroll clients. She prepared varied and complex payrolls for businesses from logging to restaurants to retail and everything in between. Doing payroll for a Christmas tree farm during harvest is no joke! In addition to payroll, Tori has several years' experience working as a staff accountant for a CPA, doing books and preparing tax returns for multiple clients. During tax season, Tori works part-time for Minniti & Company CPAs in Salem as a tax preparer. She's always loved the controlled chaos of tax season and feels that preparing tax returns helps her complete the cycle that begins with bookkeeping. Ultimately, she gets to do something she loves that also makes her a better bookkeeper. In her free time, Tori enjoys cooking, camping, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband Andy and their dog Zoey. She also spends time herding her backyard chickens and catering to the whims of her cat Cooper.
