Kimberly Blackmon is a dynamic professional who exhibits consistency, responsibility, and empathy in her work. She is a native of North Little Rock, Arkansas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in University Studies with concentrations in Business, Information Technology, and Healthcare Management from the University of Arkansas. She is a certified Gallup Clifton Strengths Coach. Kimberly has a passion for developing programs, policies, and initiatives designed to enhance and support the empowerment of multicultural success among students and businesses. Her career began with her serving in the United States Army initially as Unit Supply Specialist and closing out her military career as a Military Police Officer. Upon being honorably discharged at the conclusion of her enlistment, Kimberly served as Assistant Director at a neighborhood child development center providing childcare assistance to low-income families. Kimberly continued her dedication to serve others in her roles in higher education at Pulaski Technical College. She worked with The Network for Student Success, the first iteration of the Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) grant through the US Department of Education. The grant was created to increase the success rates of African American males. It was obvious from her first day as an Administrative Assistant with The Network that she would quickly outgrow her role. The Director created a new role, Program Coordinator, for Kim to leverage her project management skills. She continued to work with the College as it transitioned to become the University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College as the Project Specialist of their science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) initiative. Kimberly continues to serve others through various volunteer roles and her professional work. Kimberly can be easily described with three of her Gallup Signature Themes - consistency, responsibility, and empathy. Her consistency displays through her firm belief the same rules should apply to all and she adheres to the rules as a professional. Her responsibility theme displays as she takes great pride in adhering to deadlines, timelines and goals. With her empathy theme, she feels what others are feeling and understand, even if she does not agree with their perspective.
