The Certi-Fire program is open only to 309A licensed electricians in good standing and 3rd term or higher alternatives. The program is taught by instructors who themselves are certified electricians. Certi-Fire has been an evolving program for 20 years and is supported by the Joint Electrical Promotion Plan (JEPP), which is managed and funded by the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario (ECAO) together with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Construction Council of Ontario (IBEW CCO)... Certi-Fire electricians are trained to meet the requirements for proper fire alarm installation, testing, verification, and maintenance.
