Andrew Mallette

Mr. Mallette is the principal engineer at Cenlo and has extensive experience in the private consulting sector. He entered the workforce in the mid-2000s as a junior inspector/surveyor and structural designer for RA Engineers & Inspectors (formerly Rowswell & Associates Engineers) and has since become a locally respected licensed engineer and project manager. Mallette has also worked significant terms for Cook Engineering, Walker Engineering (WSP), and STEM Engineering (Tulloch) as a team leader where his contributions were invaluable. Throughout his career, Mr. Mallette has become well known to many contractors and has seen through many capital projects across Ontario. Mallette has also been the lead engineer and coordinator for many local development projects. His experience includes civil, structural, and infrastructure projects for residential, commercial, industrial, municipal, and First Nations applications. He is of First Nation heritage himself, interested in sustainable development. He has worked with First Nations across Ontario on many projects, including Batchewana FN, Wiikwemkoong FN, Dokis FN, Fort Albany FN, Whitesand FN, Constance Lake FN, Shoal Lake FN, and more. He has been intimately involved in many parks and recreation projects of all classes throughout Ontario, including municipal, provincial, and federal parks projects.

Don McEwen

Mr. McEwen founded Cenlo Enterprises in 1995 after his term with Maple Leaf Custom Homes, where he was employed for nearly ten years as an architectural designer. From the mid-'80s, McEwen worked in the architectural field, responsible for coordination with clients, contractors, and building departments. After founding Cenlo, McEwen obtained his BCIN certification and has been a successful architectural designer focusing on OBC Part 9 small buildings and housing. Mr. McEwen has nearly 30 years of architectural and construction experience with small buildings and custom designs. In addition to architectural design, Mr. McEwen also specializes in environmental radon mitigation, consultation, design, and inspection services. He founded Canada Radon Inc. in 2013 and has performed testing and mitigation work across Canada for various Federal and Provincial entities (RCMP, Schools, CBRE, etc.) along with hundreds of residential customers and has become a national leader in radon mitigation in Canada. Canada Radon Inc. was sold in the spring of 2022 and Mr. McEwen remains active as a consultant. Cenlo Engineering Inc. continues to offer radon mitigation services under Cenlo Engineering Inc.

Kirby Sampson

Job Titles:

Mr. Sampson is a senior Architectural Technologist with Cenlo Engineering, primarily responsible for drafting and preliminary design. He possesses a diploma from Northern College and has over 20 years experience in private consulting. Mr. Sampson has extensive experience in heavy industrial sectors with steel mills and mining, with a focus on structural and site layouts. Previous to his Architectural undertakings, Mr. Sampson was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces - P.P.C.L.I. (Infantry - Airborne).

Mike Blair

Job Titles:
  • Civil Technologist - Surveyor - Designer
Since graduating from the Civil Engineering Program at Sault College in 2001, Mike has continued to grow his expertise working at some of the most experienced engineering and surveying firms in the Algoma district. Starting off with Maple Leaf Custom homes supporting construction layout and material costing, he later joined D.S Urso surveying performing geomatics and land surveys, residential layout, along with drafting subdivision plans. With that experience Mike then moved into the civil and engineering profession. Starting with Northern Survey Services as a civil, industrial, and construction surveyor, Mike was involved in many large projects requiring precise layout and data collection. Working with precision leveling, total stations, GPS, 3d laser scanners and CAD platforms, he became know for his attention to detail and accuracy on the job as well as training on the use of surveying equipment and construction principals. In 2010, Mike was hired by STEM Engineering Group where he began working in civil design and quickly became an advanced user of civil 3D for municipal, residential, and commercial design. Embracing his previous knowledge and current experience, Mike now supports projects from field to finish through data collection, model design, tender/contract drawings sets, field verification, and contract administration. Over the last 20+ years in the industry, Mike has been involved in land developments, mining and exploration sectors, steel manufacturing plants, gas and oil industries, and municipal infrastructure designs while embracing the latest technology and advanced principals to the project. This experience is now added to the Cenlo Engineering team where he continues to advance his career.

Mitchell Jalak

  • Lead Civil Engineering Technologist With
Mr. Jalak is the lead Civil Engineering Technologist with Cenlo Engineering, primarily responsible surveying, drafting and preliminary design. With technology diplomas from Sault College and Cambrian College, and a few good years of consulting experience, Mitchell has become proficient with executing the inspection, design, and drafting aspects of many engineering projects with the engineering team. He has gained extensive experience in residential and civil projects, including but not limited to commercial development, municipal infrastructure, industrial engineering, surveying and locating.

Samad Abdul

Job Titles:
  • Structural / Engineering Operations Manager
Abdul has over 15 years of experience in structural engineering design, consulting and project management that includes new and existing commercial, residential and industrial building structures. Along with this design experience, he has completed a number of structural evaluation/remediation reports for existing structures. Abdul has the proven ability to meet project schedules and to provide constructible designs and high-quality engineering studies. Along with a Masters degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2007), Abdul is a licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), certified Project Management Professional (PMPĀ®) and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the PEO Algoma Chapter.
