EMPIRE MINDS NYC - Key Persons

Amanda Delaney

I am a licensed social worker specializing in working with teens, families and young adults through the use of an empathic, warm, integrative approach. I received my MSW from New York University Silver School of Social Work and have experience working at residential facilities for teens, substance use clinics, non-profit organizations and private practice. I firmly believe in creating a warm, empathic, trusting environment for the client that takes into account each client's individual needs and differences. While I enjoy using a relational and CBT modality I am integrative in my approach to ensure that each client obtains a unique experience based upon their individual presentation and treatment goals. Overall I believe in using therapy as a means of catharsis, self-growth and healing.

Arielle Mach

I am a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with teens and young adults using a strengths-focused approach to therapy. I am passionate about helping folks who are engaging in self harming behaviors as well as treating and addressing depression, anxiety and panic attacks, low self esteem and self worth, LGBTQIA+ identity exploration, and trauma. I received my MSW from New York University and have experience working in school social work, community mental health, and outpatient settings. My therapeutic style is collaborative and individualized, utilizing components of CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, attachment work, and creative interventions like art and music. I strongly believe in the resilience of all human beings and that the most powerful vehicle for healing is fostering a therapeutic relationship rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis. I am dedicated to providing a space that is inviting, comfortable, supportive, and built for self exploration and healing.

Dr. Samantha Nish

I am a clinical psychologist specializing in delivering evidenced-based therapies with children, adolescents, and families. I obtained my Doctorate in School-Clinical Child Psychology (Psy.D.) from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University, where I received extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and specific evidence-based interventions that target a wide range of behavioral, social, and emotional issues. I have worked extensively with youth with ADHD, emotional regulation challenges, disruptive behavior disorders, anxiety, and trauma-and-stressor related disorders, and have provided clinical services in a variety of settings, including hospitals, foster agencies, and therapeutic schools. My goal is to tailor evidence-based interventions to my clients' unique needs, in a warm and collaborative approach. I am particularly passionate and committed to providing children, adolescents, and families with the knowledge and tools they need for growth and support.

Dr. Victor Rios

I completed my dissertation and graduate training at Palo Alto University in Palo Alto, California and my pre-doctoral internship at Mt Sinai Morningside. Throughout my education and career so far, I have worked with diverse populations in community mental health clinics and hospitals. While I work primarily from a CBT/DBT framework, I am also integrative in my approach. I have extensive experience working with children/teenagers/families, have conducted Spanish speaking therapy, and have a passion for working with LGBTQ clients. I am looking forward to continuing to work with youth and families, while also providing services to adults, and welcome Spanish speaking clients and LGBTQ people.

Kate Zayko

As a licensed clinical social worker and co-founder of Empire Minds, I specialize in working with teens and young adults, providing compassionate, thoughtful, and evidence-based therapies. I have a decade of experience as a private practitioner, and also spent seven years working at Bellevue Hospital, which included two years as Clinical Director of the Partial Hospitalization Program for very high-risk children, adolescents and their families, and a year as a social worker and therapist in a New York City public high school. Born in New Jersey, raised partly in Rhode Island, I received my undergraduate degree at Northeastern University in Boston and my Masters in Social Work from Columbia University. Before working at Bellevue, I interned at the Association to Benefit Children and the Northside Center for Child Development.

Penelope Fisher-Birch

I received my MSW from Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University. Through my experience working at an outpatient drug/alcohol and mental health clinic, I have worked with a diverse range of individuals with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, ADHD, and substance use disorders. I incorporate evidence-based interventions into a psychodynamic approach to address individual client goals. Working with young people, adults and families, my aim is to provide a therapeutic experience that is creative, collaborative, and responsive to your unique needs and experiences. I believe that therapy is a tool to better understand ourselves, deepen our relationships, improve our ability to navigate our daily lives, and cope with major life transitions.
