Dr. Kristen Kincaid

Dr. Kristen Kincaid completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo where she received her Honours Bachelor of Science. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree for the University of Waterloo in 2011 where she graduated with Honours. As part of her Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Kincaid had an internship at the prestigious Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where she was exposed to all aspects of specialized eye care, including rotations in cataract surgery, oculoplastics and ocular disease. Dr. Kincaid is certified by both the Canadian Examiners in Optometry and the National Board of Examiners in Optometry in the treatment and management of ocular disease. Dr. Kincaid has volunteered her time and services with the Opening Eyes organization and while she was in school Dr. Kincaid traveled to Romania with the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity Organization to provide eye care to individuals in under serviced areas. Dr. Kincaid's particular areas of interest include ocular disease, pediatrics, and laser vision therapy. Dr. Kincaid is a Clinical Associate of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF) and an Associate of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), as well as a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the College of Optometrists of Ontario. Dr. Kincaid is excited to have returned to her hometown and joining Eye Associates of North Bay where she worked as a summer student while in optometry school. Dr. Kincaid is looking forward to providing comprehensive eye examinations to patients of all ages.

Dr. Mike Cobean

Our optometrist, Dr. Mike Cobean, was born and raised in North Bay. He began his undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo in 1991. He graduated with honors from Indiana University, School of Optometry in 1998 and was the recipient of the Corning Low Vision Award for proficiency in the area of low vision patient care. Dr. Cobean achieved this by performing the most thorough eye exams possible. As part of his Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Cobean was an intern at the prestigious Faust Gelvin Eye Institute in Marion Indiana, where he was exposed to all aspects of specialized eye care. Here, he worked with cataract, glaucoma,and retinal specialists. He also completed a clinical rotation at the Vision Institute of Canada, one of Canada's most hallowed eye clinics. Following this, he was certified by the America Board of Examiners in Optometry in the treatment and management of ocular disease. Dr. Cobean is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, Ontario Association of Optometrists, and the College of Optometrists of Ontario where was an elected member of the Council from 2001 to 2009. At the College, he served on many committees including the Quality Assurance, Discipline and Ethics committees. From 2007-2009 he served as Vice President of the College. Currently, he serves as an elected member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists Board of Directors where he was elected as treasurer.

Dr. Mike Fenn

Dr. Mike Fenn completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario. He graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1970. Upon graduation Dr. Fenn entered private practice in North Bay and was located at the same location on Main Street until September 2012 when he joined Eye Associates of North Bay. Dr. Fenn has a close working relationship with local ophthalmologists. He enjoys the medical management of ocular diseases, contact lenses, and comprehensive eye health and vision examinations. Dr. Fenn is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, Ontario Association of Optometrists, and Canadian Association of Optometrists. News: Dr. Fenn retired in 2012 after 42 years of providing excellent care to the people of North Bay and area. We wish him a very happy and well deserved retirement! Congratulations Mike!!
