FEDERICO

As a little boy, my daily retreat was the old cabinet in my family's living room. It was full of recordings of the works of the greatest composers of the past. The beauty of the music, the variety of expression, the emotional journeys, entertained me while playing with my toys and my own fantasy. I listened to everything our CD cabinet had to offer even a lot of rock'n'roll, R&B, pop and jazz... I didn't understand the cultural and historical background of the music or how it was made. But I knew what it was for. I understood that music is for dancing, for singing along and even for crying... My first musical influences came from my grandmother and her then life-companion. Together, we used to watch famous Italian opera on VHS and debate on why rock music is not real music (I disagreed at the time and still disagree!). A faint memory of being taught the notes on an old electric organ, is another detail I remember from that somewhat important time in my musical development. I..
