Giving Desk was founded in 2021, originally as an algorithmic trading firm that leveraged returns to make investments in small businesses in emerging markets, such as Kenya and Nigeria. Two of our early investments were a mint farm company and a trade financing technology startup. The trade financing startup needed more companies to lend to, while the farm needed credit solutions to ensure their customers could purchase their crops at harvest. By connecting these two companies, the sum result was greater than the parts... Our mission is to give resources to small businesses that serve local community food supply demands through the use of advanced AI-based legal and enterprise technologies... At Giving Desk, we leverage AI-based LegalTech to manage our operations in frontier and growth markets.
