Ryan Frazer

Ryan Frazer is a Ph.D. candidate in Geological Sciences and has worked in the UNC Isotope Geochemistry Lab since 2010. Ryan's Master's (also at UNC-Chapel Hill) focused on the connections between large granodiorite plutons and monotonous intermediate ignimbrites using U-Pb zircon TIMS geochronology and zircon dissolution modeling. For his dissertation, Ryan has expanded his research into plutonic and volcanic processes, as well as method development, by experimenting with U-Pb titanite dating techniques to understand magma mush longevity, and exploring combined U-Pb dating and REE analysis of various trace minerals to track magma contamination in supervolcano eruptions.
