Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Aliyah is passionate about building community, youth development, and creating sustainable change. Aliyah brings her experience in community engagement, nonprofit administration, and project management to INP. Prior to joining INP, Aliyah worked at The Mayor's Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods (OSHN), a Louisville Metro department working to prevent gun violence. Within OSHN she was able to support grassroots organizations of all sizes to increase their capacity for violence prevention work. Aliyah also brings years of experience from the nonprofit sector from her time at Educational Justice, a local nonprofit working to bridge educational inequity in Louisville. Aliyah received her BA from The University of Kentucky in Psychology. While there she worked to create a network of college mentors for elementary and middle school aged youth in the Lexington-Fayette area. Aliyah is driven by her love for community and the belief that every person is resourceful and whole. When she isn't working towards building sustainable and equitable communities, Aliyah recharges by being a self-proclaimed foodie and exploring the beauty of Kentucky and surrounding states.

Heather Crespin

Heather (they/them) brings their experience of program coordination, mentorship, project management, and DEIB training to the team at INP. Heather joined the Institute for Nonprofit Practice after working at Cornell University for six years: they spent five years in their most recent role as the Undergraduate Program Coordinator for the Department of Communication. While at Cornell, Heather co-founded a peer mentorship program to connect historically-marginalized and first-generation students with older peers, to help these students establish a social support system during their first semester at college. Heather is passionate about community building, mental health, and artistic expression of all varieties. Heather is bilingual in English and Spanish, and is currently learning Brazilian Portuguese. They are a "foodie," and can often be found cooking, baking, and enjoying food with others in their free time; in particular, they love connecting with their Mexican-American roots by recreating the family recipes they grew up eating. Heather also enjoys performing on stage, meditating, traveling, watching movies, snuggling with their rescue dog Zelda Sayre, reading, and spending time outside enjoying nature. Heather received their Bachelor of Arts in Culture and Communication from Ithaca College, where they studied Spanish, social justice theory, and performance art.

Lisa has worked for twenty-five years in operations, human resource management, and program development across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. She brings her talent as a relationship-builder and innovative problem-solver to nurturing small start-ups into thriving organizations. No stranger to challenging roles, she has coordinated paid and volunteer staff across the world for organizations such as the American Red Cross, YWCA, and MA Ombudsman Program. Prior to coming to INP, she worked as the Operations Director at Boston CASA for close to ten years, where she led the organization's expansion in staffing and regional presence while advancing people, systems, and policies. With a life goal of developing her personal and professional learning in social justice, Lisa has worked tirelessly to transform organizations to become more inclusive and equitable. As an alumnus of the INP Core program, she is thrilled to have joined this amazing team of leaders. On her "off time," you will find Lisa drinking coffee and cooking or hiking with her family.

Lisa's experience with communications, marketing, outreach, and engagement goes back many years. In the past decade, her specialties have come to include strategic narrative and framing, centering justice and equity, and supporting democratic and participatory approaches to system change in a variety of sectors. Most recently, Lisa held the role of Communication Director for the six-state Food Solutions New England network based at the UNH Sustainability Institute. Lisa founded the Maine-based Resilience Hub in 2005 and directed the organization until 2018, growing it to nearly 3K members and delivering more than 800 experiential educational events as well as delivering a range of participatory design and community service programs. She is an experienced communications professional, strategist, organizer, facilitator, host, speaker, network weaver, and educator who believes that resilience-building, community care, and democratized, participatory approaches are among the best tools we have for creating vibrant futures and for navigating the challenges of our time. She's currently a Trustee for the North American Marine Alliance, Advisor to Interlace Agroforestry Commons, and a member of Grist's New England Fix! Network. She has served on the boards of the Eat Local Foods Coalition (ELFC), the Permaculture Association of the Northeast (PAN), the Grant Review Committee of the New England Grassroots Fund, and the Advisory Panel for Green & Healthy Maine Homes magazine, among other volunteer efforts. She is a graduate of Boston College and holds several graduate-level credentials and certifications. She brings to INP a rich set of work experiences in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. She's an avid gardener and orchardist and lives with her family in Maine.

Loren brings a background in public service, serving in various roles across all three branches of government before joining INP's advancement team. As Development Coordinator, she supports fundraising efforts so that INP can achieve its strategic and programmatic goals. Rooted in social justice, Loren is inspired to play a part in INP's objective of making the nonprofit sector more equitable, diverse, and sustainable. She is deeply passionate about advancing racial and gender equity, eradicating poverty, and conservation and climate action. Loren holds a BA from Emmanuel College, where she double majored in Political Science and International Relations with a concentration in Sustainability and Global Justice. Meg Miner is a multimedia creative and strategist committed to social justice. She believes in the power of people to inspire progressive action through innovative storytelling. Inclusive practice, authentic representation, and community building ground her work as Communications and Marketing Manager. An AmeriCorps alum, Meg joins INP with a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector. She has amplified the voices of young organizers across the country to advance anti-racism and educational opportunity at the local, state, and national level. Meg also served as a founding member of her previous organization's equity collaborative. Her passion for expansive self-growth led Meg to become a Residency in Social Enterprise Fellow with New Sector Alliance. Meg (she/her) brings her experience in project management, event coordination, and commitment to intersectional research and DEIB to the team at INP. She is passionate about community building, elevating voices, and reconstructive history - all of which are pursuant to molding a more equitable society that features the lived realities of previously marginalized individuals. Prior to joining the INP team, Meg worked at the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women, a state agency dedicated to providing a permanent, effective voice for women and girls across Massachusetts. At the MCSW, Meg coordinated events, research, reports, and legislative briefings while networking with key nonprofit stakeholders across the Commonwealth. Meg prioritizes conversations which interrogate systems that perpetuate injustice in order to facilitate holistic and actionable discourse regarding racial and gender equity. She is particularly drawn to capacity building and public education reform to rectify disparities across socio-economic class, gender identity, and race/ethnic identity. Meg holds a BA in History from Boston College with concentrations in African & African Diaspora Studies and Women's & Gender Studies. Her studies in these particular disciplines equip her with the skills, frameworks, and work ethic to foster change.

She was named a 2019 Barr Foundation Fellow, featured in the Chronicle of Philanthropy as one of ‘15 More People Changing the Nonprofit World,' and one of 25 ‘Powers That Will Be' in Boston Magazine.
