Her multifaceted 25-year career in healthcare includes Executive Director experience in hospice, showcasing her adeptness at steering organizations toward success. Alecia's leadership roles as a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer in both home health and hospice, as well as Chronic Care Management, combined with leadership in population health think tanks, underscore her ability to drive operational efficiency and provide empathetic, patient-centered care at the highest levels. Brad Thomas, CEO and Owner of Pathway Hospice, is a dedicated servant leader whose journey is defined by a passion for making a meaningful impact on the lives of others. The common thread throughout Brad's career is that in every endeavor he's taken on a service-focused industry. Brad began his career in 1994 when he became a licensed Real Estate Broker. He quickly learned that the best recipe for success was to keep it simple and do "the right thing"; always putting the interests of his clients ahead of his own. By 1996, he was President of Texas American Brokerage and a Managing Partner at Archipelago Equities, a Real Estate Investment Holding Company. In 2014 he was offered the opportunity to be a part of Pathway Hospice. Fueled by a profound desire to provide compassionate care for patients at the end of their lives, Brad transitioned to hospice care. Brad applies the lessons learned from his previous experience to his management of Pathway, driven by a core belief that the only way to provide the best care in the industry is to hire and retain the absolute best staff. In his tenure, he has procured the most caring and highly trained staff in the DFW Metroplex.

Dr. Bassem Elsawy

Dr. Bassem Elsawy brings over two decades of medical expertise to his role as the full time dedicated Medical Director for Pathway Hospice. As a physician triple Board-certified in Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Care, Dr. Elsawy is dedicated to upholding the highest standard of care for patients approaching the end of life. Originally from Egypt, Dr. Elsawy completed his medical education at Cairo University Faculty of Medicine before embarking on his journey in the United States. He honed his skills through a rigorous residency at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL, followed by a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. With over 15 years of active practice in Texas, Dr. Elsawy has become a respected figure in the medical community, known for his compassionate approach and dedication to his patients. As the Medical Director at Pathway Hospice, he oversees the delivery of comprehensive and personalized end-of-life care, ensuring that each patient receives the support and comfort they need during this sensitive time. Dr. Elsawy's dedication to excellence extends beyond his clinical practice. He has served on the Boards of Methodist ACO and DMPN, playing a vital role in shaping healthcare policy and practice. Elected as President for two consecutive terms of the Texas Chapter of the American Geriatrics Society, he has been a driving force in advancing geriatric care in the state. Recognized as a Fellow of both the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society, Dr. Elsawy is dedicated to advancing the practice of family medicine and improving the health and well-being of older adults. Fluent in English and Arabic, Dr. Elsawy is able to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that language is never a barrier to quality care. He is deeply committed to providing support not only to patients but also to their families, guiding them through the challenging journey of end-of-life care with empathy and compassion. As a key member of the Pathway Hospice team, Dr. Bassem Elsawy embodies the organization's commitment to providing dignified and compassionate end-of-life care. His leadership, expertise, and unwavering dedication to his patients make him an invaluable asset to both the hospice and the community it serves. In addition to his medical work, Dr. Elsawy is deeply involved in medical education and research. He serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at both UT Southwestern School of Medicine and the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC). Dr. Elsawy is also co-author of "Griffiths 5 Minute Clinical Consult" and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, contributing valuable insights to the field of Hospice and Palliative Care.
