Henry Dijkstra - CEO

Job Titles:
  • CEO
Henry is a seasoned Consulting Technical Project Manager in telecommunications with a passion for technology. He has extensive international experience in 5G, telecommunications, project management, consulting and training. Henry is the founding partner of Pulse Telecom, a consultancy company specialising in new technologies and the network manager to make the new technologies increase revenue and decrease costs. Henry has worked with and for operators, vendors, regulators and consultancy firms in the Pacific, Asia, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean for more than 35 years. He started his career working on the PSTN with the New Zealand Post Office. At that time, the technology consisted of Step-by-Step and Crossbar switching equipment interconnected with FDM analogue transmission. As his career progressed, Henry started working with SPC switches, TDM transmission, and in recent years the XGPON, MPLS and OTN networks that now carry voice calls using VoIP technology. Henry first became interested in mobile telecommunication in 1995. He had helped Lucent Technologies integrate its first GSM network into Saudi Arabia in a project known as TEP6. From these early days, Henry has worked with many operators and vendors on the technology that is now a high speed data network using IP-based networks with virtualised nodes residing in the cloud. Henry considers that 5G is the latest and the most exciting of the mobile technologies to date. The massive changes between 4G and 5G are evident throughout the entire technology, including radio, core, charging, LI, security, services, transmission, OSS, BSS, regulation, spectrum and mobile co-location/infrastructure sharing, just to name a few. Having seen so many different networks around the world, and having worked with so many Telco's, Henry is very keen to share his telecom knowledge with others. He is very interested in sharing what he sees are solutions that work and solutions that "don't work quite as well". Telecom, and now especially 5G, is always close to his heart, as are his passion for travel, people, training, mentoring and island lifestyles. Henry holds a New Zealand and a Dutch passport and speaks English, Dutch and German, is a keen videographer and has attended numerous cultural and business awareness courses in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
