Real Kiwi Horse Trekking (formerly Peel Forest Horse Trekking) is a small family owned business. Hannah and Sam Jamieson are the owners, which they manage in conjunction with their farming operation on Awarima Station. The trekking side of the business has been in operation for over ten-years and solidified its reputation as one of the finest horse trekking outfits in the South Island... Safety is important to us, so we have carefully selected all of our horses and ponies to ensure we have a suitable mount for all ages and riding abilities. Everyone is fitted with a helmet and given a riding briefing prior to their trek. All our guides are trained in first aid and are experienced horsemen and horsewomen... We're located approximately 2.5 hours drive south of Christchurch and a 1 hour drive inland from Timaru. 15 kilometres off the Inland Scenic Route (HW72) en-route to Mount Cook and Queenstown.
