He attended Southern Illinois University School of Law and received his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in 1989 and was admitted to the Bar the same year. He has been admitted to the U.S. District Court, the Central and Northern Districts of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit. Mr. Wood was with the McLean County State's Attorney's office before entering private practice. Mr. Wood is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and was on the Committee of Professionalism in 1989-1990. He is also an active member of the McLean County Bar Association, serving on its Board of Governers and as its President from 2020 - 2021. He is on the board of the Heartland Community College Foundation, serving as its President in 2020-2022. Mr. Wood also serves on the board of Chestnut Health Systems. He has been a speaker for numerous agencies on employment and labor related issues and issues concerning landlord representation. Nicholas R. Houska
