WIDE RANGE MULTIMEDIA - Key Persons

Alex Maier

Snowboarding is the first thing that got Alex interested in camera work. He and his friends started making snowboard videos at around 14 years old; he started spending all his money on camera equipment and filming more than snowboarding. After a while, it didn't matter what he was filming, and the camera came with him everywhere he went. By sophomore year in high school, he knew he'd make a career with his camera. Alex graduated with a degree in Digital Cinema from Northern Michigan University in 2015. He's been working as a professional videographer and editor since before he graduated. He has spent three years at an advertising agency in Michigan and is the lead videographer and editor for an award-winning documentary filmmaker. In addition to this commercial work, he has produced three full-length documentaries about long-distance hiking. Some of these films can be found on the documentary page. He and Amy have another one in the works called "Mind, Body, & Soul: the Nature of Well-Being"

Amy Robin

Amy has always been interested in the ever-evolving world of technology focusing on cameras, video cameras, and computers. Anytime there was a camera around, whether that would be a photo or video camera, she'd wind up having it in her hands taking photos, shooting videos, or even just looking through the viewfinder to see what's behind the lens. It didn't matter if it was a wind-up, point-and-shoot, polaroid, phone, or high-quality piece of equipment. Amy always tried to stay up to date with computers. Using programs to highlight her work, make logos, create short animations, design websites, and create posters for her friends. Amy started taking her skills seriously when she began spending a lot of her free time outside. A friend who went to school for all things artistic, and was highly successful, commented on her skills and lent her their camera. She grew into shooting bands, engagement sessions, wildlife, nature, and weddings. She enjoys making her work stand out in the crowd and capturing those right moments.
