Over the last 5 years we have seen unprecedented growth in research at Upstate. For the last 3 years our research expenditures rose 10% annually and we finished the 2023/24 fiscal year with a 23% increase in research expenditures. Over the last ten years we have nearly doubled our expenditures, closing out 2023/24 at $55 million... Behind all this, everything research is growing at Upstate; our faculty and students are publishing more papers, submitting more and bigger grants, new clinical trials are being established at record rates, we are setting records for new intellectual property disclosures, patents filed, and patents awarded and we are best in the SUNY system for IP revenue.
