Dr Mitchell specialises in musculoskeletal imaging, with particular expertise in sports injury. He is radiologist to numerous Premier League and Championship football teams, professional cricket clubs and numerous rugby union teams. Dr Mitchell works with many International football, cricket and Rugby teams. He also provided radiological imaging services for individual athletes at the Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics.

Dr Andrew Dunn

Andrew completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging from the University of Toronto in 2006. Dr Anthony Waring

Dr Waring is passionate about the non-surgical management of musculoskeletal injuries, osteoarthritis and sporting injuries. He regularly uses ultrasound as a point of care diagnostic tool and works with a multidisciplinary team with the aim of optimising health and helping patients return to full function. Dr Waring is currently a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine at British Athletics and Fulham Football Club. Anthony graduated from The University of Birmingham in 2009 and went on to complete his Masters in Sport and Exercise Medicine with Distinction at Queen Mary University of London in 2012. He completed his Core Medical Training in London and obtained his MRCP in 2014. Dr Waring achieved his FSEM Intercollegiate Faculty Diploma in 2016 and completed his PGCert in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound with Distinction from the University of Bournemouth in 2017. Anthony completed Higher Specialist Training in Sport and Exercise Medicine in London, working at Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, The Royal London Hospital, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore and the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court. Dr Waring has experience of working with team sports, for example The Football Association and Watford Football Club, Dance Medicine and Endurance Sports like London Marathon and Triathlons.

Dr. Kumar has over ten years of experience successfully treating all manner of upper limb, lower limb and spinal musculoskeletal conditions causing pain or impairing performance. He draws upon his previous postgraduate training and qualifications in surgery, high performance sports medicine and General Practice to undertake in-depth clinical evaluation and formulate bespoke management plans that help his patients achieve their goals. As an educationalist, leading degree programs in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health at University College London, he ensures all his patients acquire a good understanding of their diagnosis and rehabilitation strategies, and works closely with colleagues, to enable optimum recovery. Dr. Kumar has special expertise and qualifications in diagnostic ultrasound imaging of orthopaedic complaints to help confirm an accurate diagnosis and evaluate the extent of any injury often on the same visit. He has acquired specialist expertise in tendinopathy, concussion, chronic pain management, complex and recurrent injuries, youth and adolescent sport, disability sport, and optimisation of health and physical activity in patients with chronic disease. He leads the National Tendinopathy Centre for clinical and research excellence based at the Institute of Sport Exercise and Health in London, where he is also involved in providing a multidisciplinary concussion service. Dr. Kumar is Chief Medical Officer at Reading Football Club and AFC Wimbledon. He also currently works as a Consultant Physician to active servicemen and women with the Ministry of Defense, and elite able-bodied, disabled and youth athletes across professional sports, including British Athletics and The European Tour Golf. Dr Damien Smith is a consultant in pain medicine and anaesthesia, specialising in the treatment of chronic pain conditions. He provides a wide range of interventional and non-interventional treatments for this diverse and fascinating patient population. Dr Smith specialises in assessing and treating patients with Lower back pain, Cervical pain, Radiculopathy, Headaches and Complex regional pain syndrome. He provides interventional techniques such as lumbar/cervical epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, nerve root injections, pulsed radio frequency lesioning and other injection therapies. Dr Smith studied medicine at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and completed his training in anaesthesia and chronic pain in London. During this time he undertook a pain fellowship at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington. He has been a consultant since 2005 and is now the lead clinician for Pain Services at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. He owns and runs an online pain education tool, which is accessed by pain consultants in the UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Dr Smith has also greatly expanded his practice around professional sports and elite athletes.

Dr Derek Svasti-Salee

Dr Emmanouil Astrinakis

Dr Larkin has extensive experience in treating elite athletes and working in high performance environments, as well as managing musculoskeletal conditions of city workers, weekend warriors and physically active people in pain. She is currently the Chief Medical Officer for the LTA and works with our British Elite Tennis players and future aspiring junior players. Dr Larkin works with athletes of all abilities and has been fortunate enough to be involved in two Olympics and one Paralympics. She worked at both the Olympics and Paralympics in London 2012 in the athletes' village polyclinic as a sport physician and in the athletics stadium as a field of play team leader. More recently she travelled to Rio as the team physician for the men's and women's GB rugby 7s squad, with the men successfully winning a silver medal. For 8 years, she worked for England Rugby and was involved with every team in some capacity, through this she has developed an interest in women's health and performance. She was also involved in the Rugby World Cup 2015 as an immediate care doctor and an area medical officer. Through her experience of working in the Military, at Headley Court, and her appointment as the clinical lead of the Spines department, she developed an interest in chronic pain management and the understanding the multifaceted components to pain. She has worked in a variety of sports including premiership academy football, rugby, hockey, ice hockey and GB disability target shooting. She has experience with both international men's & women's rugby and football and has also worked extensively with the younger age group.

Dr Houghton has wide and extensive experience in treating elite athletes, military personnel, city workers and all those who are physically active or in pain. He specialises in tendon pain utilising Ultrasound and UTC scanning for diagnosis and Ultrasound Guided Injections and ESWT (Shockwave) as potential treatments. He also has a wide range of experience in upper and lower limb overuse and running injuries, bone stress injuries, adolescent overuse injuries, hip and groin pain, exercise induced leg pain and injury rehabilitation. His Rheumatology interests are gout, inflammatory spinal conditions and inflammatory joint conditions that affect young or athletic people. Dr Houghton has excellent communication skills and promotes a multidisciplinary approach, liaising effectively with physiotherapists, osteopaths/chiropractors, pain doctors and orthopaedic surgeons to get the best results for his patients. He understands the significant effects that injury and pain can have on normal day to day life and promotes physical activity in all of his treatment plans. Dr Houghton was head of the Wales Medical Team in the hugely successful EURO 2016 tournament and continues to look after the Welsh national team and the 2018 county cricket champions, Surrey.

Jonathan is a highly experienced Consultant Rheumatologist and Sports Physician having been a Consultant since 2004. In Rheumatology Jonathan has an interest in, gout, back pain, osteoarthritis, bone health, osteoporosis and other inflammatory conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. In Sports Medicine he also has a particular interest in diagnosis and recovery from all forms of injury. He has experience in Professional Football, Rugby Union, Disability Sport and Rehabilitation. He was Physician to the London 2012 Olympic Games and the Great Britain Beijing 2008 Paralympic Team. Jonathan is recognised as an international expert on treating patients with tendon problems. He is skilled in providing shock wave and injection therapy and guiding rehabilitation. His medical doctorate on tendinopathy from University College London won the British Society of Sport and Exercise Medicine research prize and he has published many influential papers in this field. He is also experienced at performing musculoskeletal ultrasound. Jonathan has extensive experience in working with within multidisciplinary environments with physiotherapists, coaches, sports therapists and osteopaths and his aim is to help every patient achieve their maximum potential. Dr Justin Hughes

Dr Hughes has extensive experience in treating Sports and Musculoskeletal Injuries. He has worked across a diverse range of elite sport teams and clubs. More recently he was the doctor to the World Champion England Women's Rugby team. He worked for several years with the Ministry of Defence at DMCR Headley Court where he specialised in Complex Trauma Injury Rehabilitation. He was also the lead Consultant of the Elite Sports Injuries clinic there. Dr Hughes has a sub speciality interest in tendinopathy management. His uses a team approach working with the patient and physical therapy team using the same rehabilitation principles used in elite sport. For tendinopthy treatments he is an expert in delivery of shockwave therapy, in performing High Volume injections and the use of Platelet Rich Plasma. He is experienced in diagnostic and interventional ultrasound and works closely with the Fortius Radiology team to obtain a rapid diagnosis for patients. Dr Hughes delivers an expert Sports Medicine opinion on Knee injuries, Hip and Groin pain, Neck and Back pain, Foot and ankle injuries and running related injuries. He works full time at the Fortius city clinic. Dr Hughes is a leader in his speciality as Vice President of the Faculty ( FSEM) . Dr Justin Yeoh is a specialist Consultant in Musculoskeletal, Sports and Exercise Medicine. He has worked at several Premier League football clubs and is currently Club Doctor at Fulham FC. His vast experience is drawn from working for the NHS in a general musculoskeletal clinic, Military at the renowned Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre in Headley Court and various sporting events including the 2012 London Olympics. Justin specialises in the non-surgical management of a variety of musculoskeletal issues. This includes any joint related pain (such as osteoarthritis), tendon related pain (such as the of the Achilles, patella, elbow or shoulder), acute and chronic sport or exercise related injuries as well as more complex unresolved problems that need a further in-depth assessment. He has a particular interest in treating overuse injuries (such as stress fractures) as well as football related injuries in both children and adults. He can perform advanced diagnostics, such as ultrasound with guided injections. Having suffered significant injuries himself, Justin has a personal understanding of what is required of the journey to get back to fitness and being active again. He enjoyed playing competitive sport including football and tennis, but now enjoys regular swimming. Dr Mark Ridgewell is a Consultant Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician. His main field is the management of soft tissue and overuse injuries across the whole spectrum from elite performers to those who are wishing to undertake low level exercise. He specialises in the prevention and management of overuse injuries all over the body as well as rehabilitation. Dr Ridgewell became the first doctor in Wales to be appointed to the GMC Specialist Register in Sport and Exercise Medicine in 2010. He works for Abertawe Bro Morgannwg Local Health Board as the Clinical Lead specialist service, which sees over 12000 patients with soft tissue, bone and joint problems annually. He has worked at international level across a wide variety of sports included rugby, football, athletics, swimming, cricket, hockey, netball, cycling, and gymnastics. Glasgow 2014 was his third Commonwealth Games as Sports Physician to Team Wales. He has been instrumental in the setting-up and design of the internationally regarded Masters in Sport & Exercise Medicine course at Cardiff Metropolitan University since 1999 and was Programme Director of the course for many years. He constantly updates his learning via his teaching posts and has acted as a mentor for many junior doctors and physiotherapists who have risen to prominent roles over the years. Over the last 20 years Dr Ridgewell has gained considerable experience on the management of sporting injuries, specialising in the non-surgical treatment of soft tissue injuries affecting muscles, tendons and ligaments, particularly in the exercising population. He works with World, Olympic and Paralympic champions across several sports. Dr Moghal obtained his medical degree from the University of Sheffield in 2002. Having gained a broad range of experience in a number of specialities, he then completed General Practice Vocational Training in the London Deanery in 2011, becoming a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Dr Moghal then went on to complete Higher Specialist Training in the Oxford Deanery in Sport & Exercise Medicine obtaining the Diploma in Sport & Exercise Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons, as well as a Master's Degree in Sport, Exercise & Health from University College London. He appears on the GMC specialist register and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine. Dr Moghal is currently the Lead Physician for the England Senior Men's Cricket Team. As part of his role, he tours with the team both home and abroad. He has extensive experience in cricket having worked with the England team for a number of years as well as previously being the team doctor for Hampshire CCC. He was also a Sports Physician with the English Institute of Sport and during this time worked with athletes from a broad range of Olympic & Paralympic Sports. During this time he spent 4 years as the Chief Medical Officer for GB & England Hockey culminating in being part of the team that travelled to the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021. She has developed a musculoskeletal Fellowship program at Imperial College for radiology trainees. Interests include musculoskeletal intervention and all aspects of musculoskeletal imaging.

Dr Nimrat Mangat

Dr Mangat's special areas of interest include Musculoskeletal Imaging, Oncological and Cross Sectional Imaging. After qualifying from Guys and St Thomas Medical School in 1998, Dr Mangat obtained his core medical training from teaching hospitals in London. He went on to obtain membership at the Royal College of Physicians London in 2003, and then entered into Specialist Radiology training at The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. His fellowship training at the Royal Marsden Hospital complemented these interests. In 2009, Dr Mangat was appointed a Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Musculoskeletal Imaging at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust. Dr Mangat has published in the BMJ and presented at many international Radiological meetings including the International Cancer Imaging Society, the UK Radiological Congress and The Radiological Society of North America. Audits of his Interventional work have demonstrated no adverse outcomes and excellent patient satisfaction. Dr Mangat is the lead IT and Musculoskeletal Imaging Radiologist at Kingston Hospital, he is currently involved in a project which will bring state of the art cloud based technology to healthcare. Dr Jackson has been a sports medicine specialist for over 25 years and provides medical care for elite international athletes and teams and those involved in recreational exercise and sport. The knowledge and skills employed to diagnose and manage elite professionals in sport can be transferred to treat anyone in the exercising population to return them to their chosen sport or activity as quickly as possible. He is particularly interested in seeing patients where the exact diagnosis is unclear or the underlying cause for recurrent injuries is not understood. Dr Jackson works with a wide variety of international teams and GB Olympic teams, is the Immediate Past President of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine (UK) (2015-18) and is the Deputy National Medical Director at the English Institute of Sport. Dr Rajat Chowdhury

Dr Rajat Chowdhury is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Oxford University Hospitals and specialises in all aspects of orthopaedic, rheumatology, sports and spine imaging, and image-guided treatments. He read medicine at the University of Oxford, where he also coxed the rowing team. He completed core surgical training at St Mary's Hospital, Imperial College London, and specialist radiology training in Wessex. He completed a musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London and an honorary advanced fellowship at the internationally renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford. He was subsequently appointed as a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. His practice includes complex orthopaedic and spine disorders, major trauma, rheumatology, bone and soft tissue sarcoma, and bone infection.
