As we previously published here on 28/April/2022, our professional indemnity insurers AmTrust (through Marsh JLT) put up our premium for the year 01/May/2022 to 30/April/2023 by 244%. That made our law firm financially unviable as if the increase is repeated next year and we have to close, we would be looking at a run-off premium of around £50,000.00 as against closing now with a run-off premium of around £20,000.00. Therefore, the law firm part of our business closed effective Friday 29th July 2022. We are therefore no longer a law firm regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). However, we shall be carrying on our business by providing legal support services to other lawyers. We shall also be providing non-reserved legal services for which a regulator is not required.
