180 UTURN was formed in the State of Mississippi as a non-profit organization to encourage the success of transforming lives of inmates by supporting them in obtaining gainful employment, housing, medical insurance, education, transportation and counseling... The United States confines its citizens at an alarming rate of 698 per 100,000 residents. Sixty percent of the 2.3 million people are in confinement for non violent offenses. At 180 UTURN, we work to change the direction and paths for these individuals through criminal justice reform... We work with legal resources who can advocate for clients and assist them at various stages of their defense.
