ATTORNEY ADVISOR ADVANTAGE - Key Persons

James Wittmack

Job Titles:
  • Advisor
James Wittmack is an experienced trusted advisor helping firms accelerate to the next level for over 30 years. James helps law firms run more efficiently, effectively and profitably by providing practical and expert advice on the business aspects of their operations. James is uniquely qualified to accelerate law firms to the next level. He represented himself as a defendant in family court for over eight years, cross-examining himself and presenting his closing argument. He persuaded the judge to rule in his favor while opposing four attorneys his former wife hired. James became so familiar with the legal system in California he may have been able to pass the bar. In 1989, James' furniture manufacturing business was stolen from him at gunpoint in Mexico. He could not get immediate help from consultants who could have prevented that event. They wanted to come in and do an analysis over weeks or months; he needed answers that same day. Driving back across the border, he decided to do everything he could to prevent any business owner from getting into the same predicament. This was when he developed his proprietary MIND DUMP three-hour vision board process. MIND DUMP is the single most important tool you will ever encounter to make big decisions in business and life. James' MIND DUMP process focuses on helping participants blend their personal goals with the business side of their firm to create a healthy work-life balance. He combined his knowledge of the legal system with over 30 years of successfully accelerating businesses to the next level to develop this proprietary approach. That experience includes conducting business plan writing seminars every six weeks for five years and helping numerous companies accelerate to the next level, some of which have grown into national corporations. He has raised multiple rounds of $3 million to $6 million. His most significant raise is $100 million for a global startup. A solo practitioner asked James if his MIND DUMP process would help her build her law firm. She was working in a shared office with a part-time employee and her husband helping her. Today, her firm is the sole occupant of a two-story office building. She has one attorney, an associate attorney, two paralegals, and five office staff. Her income has more than tripled. A high-profile attorney practicing for over 45 years asked James if his MIND DUMP process could help him figure out how to get the most for his firm so he could retire. James was astonished to learn that in many cases, attorneys just walk away after building a successful firm. There is a better way. The best time to decide to exit a law firm is when the firm is founded. Getting 10 to 20 multiples for a law firm takes years of planning; it's not a last-minute decision. The earlier you get started, the better. After college James was professionally trained by highly competent mentors. He was a turnaround expert for 12 years, as their last chance to succeed if they didn't follow his advice they would go out of business. James was trained in Sr. Executive Management by a fortune 100 company. James is active in outside sports, paddle ball, golf, surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding. To relax and get away he rides his motorcycle through the mountains in southern California.
