Brandon Vega

Brandon Vega is a serial entrepreneur and has leveraged his unique expertise in the modern design world to create value through design in a breadth of top-performing real estate assets throughout Southern California. At CAST, he serves as Director of Development, where he leads the single-family and hospitality projects. Upon arrival to San Diego in 2009, Brandon opened a mid-century design shop in San Diego called Atomic Bazaar. Through his shop, he cultivated relationships with customers and community members that would later become his business partners. He has since opened two successful retail storefronts under the name Sea Hive, totaling nearly $5M in annual sales under a combined 40,000 SF, and has maintained key relationships with the local community and influential investors. Since 2014, Brandon has operated CCV Holdings as CEO, where he serves as head of development, management, design, and construction of their high-end, single-family development projects in the North County Coastal San Diego submarket.

Bret Morriss

  • Managing Partner of CAST Capital
Bret Morriss serves as Managing Partner of CAST Capital and Brokerage divisions where he manages the investments, commercial real estate services and advisory teams, which are responsible for capital markets, investment sales and brokerage teams. Before CAST Capital Partners, Bret was the founding Managing Director of the San Diego office for Stream Realty Partners, a 1000+ employee company with 15 offices nationally focused on office and industrial leasing, management, development, and redevelopment. At Stream Bret spent 5 years growing and leading a team producing over $1 million annually in fees. He personally executed over 300 leasing and sales transactions representing landlords, tenants, buyers, and sellers of commercial real estate properties. Prior to Stream, Bret was responsible for underwriting, due diligence and closing of more than $2 billion of commercial real estate assets in the Investment Banking group at Goldman Sachs in New York City and Investment Sales at Cushman Wakefield in Washington DC, concentrating on office sales, valuation, capital structure, marketing, and relationships. Bret is also a pilot and Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and has led more than 250 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. He served as a pilot for Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1), responsible for the transportation of the president and vice president of the United States, cabinet members and other dignitaries.

Lawrence Howard

  • Real Estate Developer
Lawrence Howard is a real estate developer with over 18 years of experience in real estate development and construction. Responsible for the acquisition, entitlement, and development of over 1,700 multifamily units, most of which required discretionary entitlement permits. He has been directly involved or overseen over $1.3 billion in planning, development and construction of various large-scale projects in Southern California ranging from mixed-use urban multifamily, high-rise, complex repositionings, adaptive reuse, laboratory, hospital, and office buildings. Since its inception, CAST has partnered in the acquisition, financing and predevelopment of nearly $20 million and nearly 500 developable units in San Diego. Prior to starting CAST, Lawrence was the Director of Development for HV Companies. There he was responsible for all aspects of development including planning, design, construction, and leasing of over $400M in urban, commercial and mixed-use development. Prior to joining HV, Lawrence was the Development Manager for the San Diego Region for Trammell Crow Residential (TCR) where he was responsible for the acquisition, entitlement, and development of over 1000 multifamily units. After receiving his BS in Construction Management from Colorado State University, he graduated with a Masters of International Real Estate Development and Finance from the University of Glasgow, UK.

Maddy Nimmo

Job Titles:
  • Executive Assistant
Maddy Nimmo serves as Executive Assistant at Cast Development, where she aids in office management, operations, and administrative work for multi-family and commercial projects. She has experience with project management and development through her work as Director of Operations and Project Manager at Mod Vacation and CCV Holdings. Maddy received a Bachelor's Degree from UC Berkeley in Media Studies.
