Mitzi is an attorney in private practice. She has worked with numerous non-profit organizations in initial formation and acquisition of their tax-exempt status. As corporate counsel, she has reviewed and opined on regulatory and bond issues for hospitals, governmental bodies, and other exempt organizations.
Mitzi previously served as President of Lowcountry Children's Center, Inc. During her tenure, the Center received a $250,000 federal grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice to develop a model multi-disciplinary program, which includes therapeutic, investigatory, medical, and research components. She participated in the coordination of services by and through meetings with many of the agencies representing various program components.
