Wesley Vandiver

Wesley Vandiver is an internationally recognized expert, researcher, and author on the subjects of Collision Reconstruction, Event Data Recorders, and Vehicle System Forensics. Mr. Vandiver is President of Collision Forensics, Inc., a firm specializing in the reconstruction of automobile collisions and analysis of digital evidence acquired from vehicles. He is also Director of Training for Berla Corporation, the global resource for Vehicle System Forensics. Mr. Vandiver had a 28-year career in law enforcement with both the California Highway Patrol, where he was an investigator with its Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT), and the Orange County (California) District Attorney's Office, where he was a founding member of its Vehicular Homicide Unit and served as its subject matter expert in collision reconstruction and vehicular homicide investigations. Mr. Vandiver retired from law enforcement in 2016 and accepted a Senior Consultant position with a Los Angeles-area forensic engineering firm. Mr. Vandiver held that position for two years before forming Collision Forensics, Inc. Mr. Vandiver is an ACTAR accredited accident reconstructionist. He has certifications in vehicle dynamics and accident reconstruction from SAE International, Technician and Analyst certifications in Event Data Recorders (automotive "black boxes"), and is a Certified Vehicle System Forensics Technician and Examiner. Mr. Vandiver is a frequently-requested presenter, and he teaches and lectures globally on these topics throughout the year. He has served as adjunct faculty at Northwestern University, the University of North Florida, U.C. Riverside, and Riverside Community College where he has taught university courses in these subjects. Mr. Vandiver has conducted extensive engineering research into the accuracy of digital evidence from automobiles and his findings have been peer reviewed and published in several technical publications including those from SAE International. Mr. Vandiver is the founder and co-author of "crash·ol·o·gy - THE SCIENCE OF CRASHES," a recurring technical feature in Collision: The International Compendium for Crash Research.
