COVERUPS WINDOW FASHIONS - Key Persons

COURTNEY NELSON

Job Titles:
  • JUNEAU CONSULTANT
Windows are our view of the world. Courtney Nelson grew up in Los Angeles with designer parents. She's seen a lot of good design and knows first-hand how much it can feed a person's soul. From her earliest days, Courtney sought to improve people's lives -- she started a house-cleaning business at 10-years-old to help create Feng Shui for her friends. Starting the day with beautiful window coverings allows the owners to feel a sense of calm control, of order, and the power to allow light to illuminate their homes, or the power to block it out. She enjoys helping people achieve their window goals by giving them options to get the perfect amount of privacy, light blockage, and insulation. Her favorite part is making windows look beautiful as well as functional. Many of her clients share that their new blinds are life changing on many levels! Home is where your story begins. Why not begin with clarity, light and beauty?

Teresa Roy - Founder

Job Titles:
  • Founder
  • OWNER
Teresa Roy is the founder and owner of Cover Ups Design. Her mom taught her to sew at a very young age and, when the fabric store she managed closed their doors in 1993, Teresa saw an opportunity to put her sewing skills to work, launch CoverUps (and be home to raise her children). She initially specialized in sewing custom drapes for interior designers, using their specifications to create draperies that would provide the finishing touch to the living spaces they designed. A good window covering specialist is, at heart, a good problem solver. Working with interior designers honed her skills and developed an aptitude to look at a window and know exactly what treatment would work. With that knowledge and experience, Teresa expanded the product line beyond custom drapes, taking advantage of innovative designs and materials, and eventually growing to include her own designers and installers. While the business continues to grow, one thing remains the same: Her dedication to you, her clients.
