As a multi-disciplinary professional, Kathryn has a background in real estate, local government, community building, customer service, and luxury sales. She has a life long passion for sustainability projects and efforts to fight climate change, especially in Cyprus, the island on which she was born and raised. As an activist at San Francisco State University, Kathryn created a community that gave hope to and empowered people to be change-makers in their communities. While a Board Member for the San Francisco Freedom School, she was fortunate enough to learn about movement building from veterans of the Southern Freedom Movement, also known as, the Civil Rights Movement. While working for the City of South San Francisco, Kathryn lobbied for change and brought her department into the 21st century by training her colleagues to utilize new technology. She was chosen to serve in a multifunctional role supporting several senior leaders to improve economic and community development. As a coordinator within the Building Department of the City of South San Francisco, Kathryn supported continual office growth through ongoing coaching. She also established several new processes and procedures that dramatically increased digitization and optimized staff time. In particular, Kathryn facilitated the implementation of a new technical system to improve user experience. She paved the way for a fully digital process that allowed homeowners and general contractors to view reports, schedule inspections and obtain construction permits online in a more timely and efficient way.
