Amy Coady joined the ECCN team in October 2018. Amy is a Newton native. She is married to her husband, Luke, and they have three children, Sophia, Liam and Ava.
Ange Sevenbergen rejoined our team in September 2012 and is the Optical Area Leader. Ange is both ABO and CPO certified. Ange has worked in the optical field for over 14 years. She lives in Newton with her husband, Scott, and three children, Blake, Haley and Jana.
Angie Peery joined our team in July 2014. She is also a Newton native. She is married to her husband, Chris, and they have two children, Kennedy and Claire.
Angie Smith joined the ECCN team in February 2017 and became CPO Certified in May 2019. Angie is a Newton native and is married to her high school sweetheart, Jake, who is also is a Newton native. They have two children, Zach and Natalie.
Dr. Brandon Tish is a Newton native and graduated from Newton High School in 2010. Once graduating from Newton High School, he went on to pursue a bachelor of science degree in biology from Drake University, where he received his degree in 2014. Dr. Tish then went on to get his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. Along with meeting the eye care needs of the entire family, his clinical interests are ocular disease and fitting specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Tish is a native of Newton and is married to his wife, Kelsey, also a Newton native. They have one daughter, Nora. In his spare time Dr. Tish likes to spend time with his family, golf, hunt, fish, and anything outdoors.
Dr. Chad Klein is a 2001 graduate of Central College in Pella, Iowa, with a B.A. degree in Chemistry. He then received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri - St. Louis College of Optometry in 2005, graduating with honors. Dr. Klein has been in practice at the Eye Care Center of Newton since 2005. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Iowa Optometric Association, serving as the co-chair for the Association's Education Committee. Dr. Klein received the Iowa Optometric Association's Young Optometrist of the Year in 2009.
Dr. Klein is a native of Britt, Iowa and is married to his wife, Mandy. They have three children, Cody, Caden and Camryn.
Made of moderately flexible plastics, GP lenses offer sharp vision and correct most vision problems. They are more durable than soft contact lenses and can be easier to handle and care for but require a longer adaptation period and consistent wear to maintain adaptation.
Jane Allen is our office manager and has been a part of the ECCN team since 1986. Jane lives in Newton with her husband, Dan, plus their dog Rockie. They have two grown children, Travis (Hollie) and Tara (Joe) plus four grandsons.
Karie Gilchrist joined our optical team in November 2020. Karie resides in Newton with her husband, Nick, and son, Lucas.
Dr. Kristin Rhoads received her Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry where she graduated with highest honors. Dr. Rhoads has been in practice at the Eye Care Center of Newton for 20 years. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Iowa Optometric Association. She received Iowa's Young Optometrist of the Year award in 2001.
Dr. Rhoads is a native of Newton and is married to Kevin, also a Newton native. They have three daughters Kaylie, Hannah, and Rachel.
Logan Kiger joined the ECCN team in July 2018. Logan resides in Newton with her husband, Noah, and is a dog mom to Gunner.
Mara Schwenker joined the team in September 2012 and became CPO certified in 2014. Mara and her husband, Brian, have lived in Newton for 25 years. They have two children, Brenna and Breyton.
Michele Nelson joined the team in July 2013. She became CPO certified in 2014. Michele has lived in Newton for 16 years. She has a significant other, Terry, plus two grown children, Eric and Alex.
Miranda Balmer joined our team in August 2017 and became CPO Certified in May 2019. Miranda is a Newton native who currently resides in Baxter. She has two daughters, Payton and Emma.
Paige Wolff joined the ECCN team in October 2021. Paige is a Baxter native and lives there with her boyfriend of five years, Kyle, and their two cats, Max and Butters.
Sarah Davidson joined the ECCN team in May 2011 and became CPO certified in 2014. Sarah is a Newton native. She is married to her husband, Dave, and they have three children, Riley, Trey and Quincy.
Taryn Wickliff joined our team in June 2020 and has been working in this field for two years. Taryn is a Newton native and currently resides here with her husband, Cameron. They have two children, Xavier and Quinn.
Theresa Shafer has been a member of the team since September 2000 and is the patient care tech area leader. Theresa has been CPO certified since 2000 and has been working in this field for over 20 years. She resides in Newton with her husband, Lance, twin boys Ben & Nick plus their dog Dodger.
